Good for him, hopefully he can really focus on hockey now and start realizing some of that potential. Windsor will be good to him, both location wise and hockey wise I think.

Scores on a great wrist shot on his 3rd shift with Windsor. Needs an assist to get a Gordie Howe hat trick in his debut.

What are his chances to make the WJC team?
I don't think we've seen enough of the college guys this year to really handicap it. He was cut from the squad of 33 at the summer camp, but that doesn't rule out his chances. There are only a couple D who look like locks (Krys, McAvoy and Fitzgerald), so there should be 4 spots up for grabs unless Werenski or Hanifin somehow end up at it (which the chances of that happening are minuscule).

Is he trying for Team USA. He's previously stated he would only play for Canada.

Yes, he was at the USA summer camp after he got citizenship. He'd have a long road back to playing for Hockey Canada. I don't think they want anything to do with him after he showed up 20 to 30 pounds overweight for the Hlinka camp in 2015.

Sergachev said Windsor probably acquired him because of his absence.

Windsor has quite a few NHL drafted prospects, they're going to be a good team that's for sure.

They are hosting the Memorial cup, they obviously are in an all-out year.

Haven't checked on him in a while. How's he doing? Looks to be 1-3-4 in 5GP with the Spits since the trade.

He has 6 goals in 13 games this season. Last season he only had 6 goals. 12 total points, 6+6.

It seems like he's doing extremely well, although I haven't watched him play in a few months.

The reports on the second half of his last season were good as well and he was good at the Rangers prospect camp. Really good pick up by the Rangers.

Yeah, jesus christ.

What's warranted this hot start/turnaround? Hard to think that he just flipped the switch and decided to try...

Getting drafted probably adds a ton of motivation. Plus knowing that an organization has confidence in you can make you more confident in yourself.

He has all of the tools to be an NHL player, which is why he was drafted with exceptional status.

I can remember watching him play the point on the PP in his rookie year. His puck handling and mobility was phenomenal. When he turned it on, he was the best player on the ice. However the games where he actually "turned it on" were few and far between.

If he can figure it out between the ears, he will be a good player.

He seems a lot more motivated this season, and I'm sure Rangers brass sat down with him during training camp and talked about his future. Heard he also cut down on his weight/body fat, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

The trade to the Spitfires also helps. Trades can help people get motivated and it also doesn't hurt to be playing on a better team in general.

He's looking great so far. If he keeps this up, this turns into an excellent pick by the Rangers.

Crazy what something happening in your personal life can do to your hockey career. He wasn't the first person to have a career setback like that.

If Sean Day is fully focused and his mental health is strong he will be the steal of the draft.

How has his defensive play looked, from someone who watches the team regularly? I only catch highlights, and that doesn't cover everything.

He seems to be doing fine offensively though :)
