Gorgeous check

Very pumped to see him with the Avalanche.

Has some holes and will come with his growing pains but he's an immense talent that could plug some major holes on the Avalanche blueline if he hits his potential. Him with Johnson in a couple of years could be a formidable pairing.

So sad to see him leave Buffalo. One of my favorite prospects. Hopefully O'Reilly can make up for the hole in my heart. I look forward to watching Zads in Colorado. You guys got a good one. I'm the avalanches newest fan.

Great start to the year but slowed down his last few games and has only played 1 of the last 4. He needs to be playing games. I also don't think this is going to be a long demotion.

Keep in mind he was the third youngest defenseman in the NHL.

Zads would have to have taken a nose dive from last year to get reassigned. Is this his fault or Roy?

Not really. He was very up-and-down last year. I think the only reason he stuck in the NHL to begin with is that either he or the KHL team that holds his rights were refusing to sign the waiver to send him back to juniors last season. He wound up having some some very bright moments, but there were plenty of games spent scratched, or playing 10 minutes and that looking like 8 too many. Zadorov's got loads of potential, but he's got a way to go to reach it.

Pretty much exactly this.

This is a smart move, looked like he was starting to second guess himself and lose confidence. Roy really likes his veterans and doesn't like his young guys making mistakes. It was a bit of Zads play and a little bit of Roy's decisions. Think it'll do him some good getting to play against lesser competition and hopefully being dominant.

If he could of gone to the AHL last year he would have been there. Had some great stud looking moments but a lot of non NHLer moments. I still think he will become a very unique #2/3 D-man he just needs time to develop more. He was thought to be very raw by many scouts when drafted.

Roy isn't a very good coach at this level and is more suited for junior players, the Avs D core is a mess. He stepped into a good situation for coaching but now its just bad and he gives his bad players playing time.

Yeah, Zads will be fine. He has all the tools, just needs to get the timing down and some better off ice habits. He's gonna be a beast for years.

True, but I thought he was learning and handling his own just fine at the NHL level. Unless there sending him a message about his work ethic, he should be find working out any bad stretch in the NHL. It's not like the Avs have a bunch of guys that can take his place.

Anyway, hopefully he's back crushing people into the boards and giggling about it on the bench soon.

It will be interesting how Zadorov handles this.

After his first year after the draft, he and his agent thought that he is good enough for NHL and too good for OHL. That's when they hardballed Buffalo to either let him play in KHL (in the team tha owned his rights) or let him play in Buffalo.

Before he was traded to Colorado it was Murray or Devine who said that Zadorov might need time in AHL. The move most likely is the right one for him, if he just is mature enough to understand it himself. So far he has been pretty conceited about his skills (him coming really off-shape to the camp last year, him being late too times from team meetings), so there might be problems.

He's young, and usually young people mature down the road. Let's hope Zadorov does the same, and doesn't complain about his demotion or something like that, but instead work his way up again.

Did any of you watch him or just assuming? He was at times the best player for the team for the first few weeks. The team is a disaster right now, it has nothing to do with Zadorov himself.

If he stays in there more than month then its bad for him. AHL is a bush league)
