Big kid at 6'6 220 per eliteprospects, having a good season as well it seems for Avto Yekaterinburg. Just wondering if fellow Russians have anything to say on the kid.

seems to be off to a great start. Looks like his game has grown a lot since last year. Anyone can comment on his play?

Sorry to bump an old thread but I'm searching for information on this kid. Apparently this kid is playing in the KHL at 18-years old and putting up decent numbers. It's interesting to find such a big defenseman who seems to have the potential of Tryamkin getting virtually no buzz. Does anyone know anything about this player or seen him play?

Im interested in knowing whats up with him, played several games in the KHL as a 18 year old, must be decent enough?

Passed up again after a really good year. Anyone have any more info on the guy? I figured someone was going to take a flier on a guy who can move well at 6'7, plays a physical game and has offense to go along with it.

Played a big game today at the U20 WJC. Was 11-0 RUS over NOR but I was very impressed with what I saw from big #8.

Does he have any potential to be scouted by NHL teams? Probably loyal to the KHL eh?

How big is Tryamkin really? He is listed as 200cm(6'7) and 112kg(246) in MHL website and 194cm(6'4) and 97kg(214) in Eliteprospects.

From the few glimpses I've caught during the WC, I don't think he's 200 cm's. KHL official site states 194 as well.

What's the story with this guy? Not willing to come over? You would think a team like the Bruins or Kings would at least use a mid to late round pick on the guy.

Really impressed with the kid today. He showed poise with the puck, used his body well, can skate, and clearly has the size. Very strange that no one has taken a late round flyer on him.

I found his skating stride to be a little awkward at times, but weirdly, I also saw him lead some rushes up the ice looking pretty fluid. I guess that comes from being that tall at that age and will sort itself out in time.

LD Nikita Tryamkin - Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, KHL (2012 undrafted)

Russkie '94 of Russian WJHC team undrafted...huge dman and played physical and tough..think nhl teams will be interested.now that they saw him at this level?

Tryamkin I thought was interesting because of size and the fact that despite having an awkward stride he seems to surprisingly generate a decent amount of speed even to join a rush. If there was no Russian factor I imagine he'd be a lock to get drafted, some team would for sure see enough to work with to use a pick on him.

I don't get the love with Tryamkin, Yes he has good size and some nice attributes. But the fact is he has huge flaws in his game and has been passed over in draft twice.

Being 6'7 doesn't mean that he is next Chara.
