is this d pool draft like 2012 or 2018? huge difference.
2008
Closer to 2012, it was viewed as one of the weaker years before all this weirdness happened. None of the prospects are Doughty, Jones or Hedman level.not sure if you're being sarcastic, as I am more serious about my response, since there is a good possibility Vancouver is drafting very high this year, and probably the Kings also.
that drafted produced Norris level dmans such as Doughty, Petriangelo, Karlsson, John Carlson , Roman Josi, and even a ton of career journey man top 4 dmans such as Tyler Myers, Travis Hamonic , Justin Shultz, Luke Schenn Marco Scandella, Scbisa the list goes on, I don't think this draft is comparable to 2008.

Does Hughes usually play the right side?
I was being serious. I think there's a lot of high end defensive talent available that may be undervalued as a result of COVID and leagues either not playing or not playing full seasons. At the very least, you have guys like Power, Hughes, Clarke, Lambos, and Edvinsson that may ultimately compete with the top guys from 2008.
I don't know if there is a Drew Doughty Petriangelo, Karlsson let alone Roman Jossi in this draft.... I guess we'll have to see in the d+1 years.
In 2008, we didn't think Karlsson or Josi would be Karlsson or Josi.
I would say that this first round will have even more defensemen drafted in it than 2008 or 2018, but it lacks the franchise level defensemen that Doughty and Dahlin were touted as prior to the draft. My other hot take is that even though Wallstedt isn't quite on Knight or Askarov's level (though he's close), he will be taken top 10 in this draft given that there is so much more uncertainty in this draft, which mitigates the risk of taking a goalie in that range. As a stylistic comparison, I think 2008 is fair. Talent pool is probably closer to 2018.
But the genetic makeup of this draft... we could see four or five defenders drafted inside the top ten, and I wouldn’t be surprised if some combination of Hughes, Power, Clarke, and Edvinsson are the first four names off the board.
sorry looks like we're making the playoffsSo... potentially better than Quinn and is bigger..... Yes please.
Ya I have never cheered for a tank job before , but I would be more than fine if the Devils finish dead last. Play hard , kids develop , but win the lotto lol .

But anyway, at least at this point in the draft cycle I'm hoping the Wings land one of the four you mentioned (in probably that order) or trade back and get Wallstedt.
The Canucks look like they may miss the playoffs. Imagine if they end up drafting Hughes....They both play left side so you'd have one on each of the top two pairings...
You'd have a Hughes out there for 70% - 75% of the game. wooaah
Luke is better defensively but he doesn't have his brothers offensive game.
you mean when jack comes to van in 6 yearsjust wait until they're all in NJ in 6 years
For a thread on Luke Hughes, it sure is hard to find anyone talking about Luke Hughes.
If NJ gets Luke Hughes I would be concerned as a Canucks fan. Likewise for NJ if the Canucks get him.
Oh, don’t worry. They’re all coming back to Detroit eventually.? If nj which is looking like they will finish below and likely drafting earlier then is (barring a lottery win for the Canucks) why would you be concerned as a nucks fan ?

lol Quinn was born in Florida. All 3 of them grew up in Toronto when their dad worked for the leafs.
