If he's finishes the year tracking better than Quinn, I don't see how he's not a top 3 pick and becomes the favorite for 1 given teams are gonna be looking at bizarre/incomplete resumes this year.
He’s his own person obviously. He's not better than Quinn.
I think Luke is looking good so far, but Quinn was a very special prospect. I would have picked him 1st overall in 2017, 2019, and 2020. He just happened to be in a draft with Dahlin and Svechnikov who were also really great prospects.
I don't think Luke is as special as Quinn. Quinn is the kind of player that was so ahead that his own teammates couldn't keep up with him. I don't see that in Luke.

I think they’re pretty much the exact same level of player at each point in their development. I think Quinn will probably always be a bit more dynamic offensively, but Luke is, imo, a better defender at the same age and he’s 6’2. The, “he [Quinn] should’ve gone 1st in all these drafts” argument doesn’t really do much since he went 7th, and Luke has a very good chance of going first this year. He’s first on my board. He's not better than Quinn.

Not hindsight.I call hindsight BS. Everyone knew he had high end potential but I sincerely doubt there was a single scout that thought he'd be so good so fast.
I saw Quinn in his draft year and at UM and thought the kid was going to be a player but nothing that screamed 1st overall. Should have been a top 5 pick in 2018? Sure, but better than Lafreniere and his brother Jack in their draft years? Total BS. Look at them at the same level as prospects, not what Quinn is now.
post the linkI was about to ask if anybody had some shift-by-shift work of this guy, but then I found a video added to YouTube a week ago. Love the skating - you'd have to think L.Hughes is in consideration at the top come draft time.
probably too many lefties so move the best one to his off-side.Does Hughes usually play the right side?
And is generally highly overrated as a factor when comparing kids in the top 10 of the draft. The gap in return for late vs early birthdays heavily emphasized by analytics doesn't appear until around the 20th pick. He’s his own person obviously.
Quinn was old for his draft though with a October 14th birthday while Luke is only about a week from being a 2022 draft pick with a September 9th birthday. That’s younger than Byfield and his age was endlessly discussed.
Size wise he is taller at 6’2 vs around 5’10 that his brothers are. He doesn’t have the girth as he has a similar lanky frame. Should play pro at under 200lbs and very likely around 190lbs.His skating is real smooth. Maybe not as silky as his brothers, but he brings a more prototypical size and is way ahead of Quinn in terms of actually playing defense at this stage. He should be on everyone's radar to go real high in the draft, especially considering his age relative the rest of the draft.
