LD Luke Hughes (2021, 4th, NJD)

Was it ever disclosed what he injured? It looked like an ankle . Hope it’s not his knee or an injury that will effect his skating ability at all in the future.
Im still pissed how poorly USA trainers did with him. They all just essentially stood there ,mouth breathing while watching him struggle to even get off the ice... Kid had a hard time getting off the ice and they just watched him struggle to hop the boards.… open the F ing gate for him and maybe , just maybe , ask him and look at his injury ? What a joke.

I haven't seen anything official. During the game it looked like the knee to me given how he struggled to get over the boards. USAH should be ashamed of the way they handled his injury.

At this point ,I would not complain about any of these up and coming studs. Id say these are all franchise altering and too close to call for now (except maybe Makar and Byram / Toews
Makar Byram
Power Dahlin
Seider Edvinsson
Hughes Nemec
Sanderson Chabot
Ducks have a shot to be there with Drysdale, Mintyukov and Zellweger

I wouldn’t take Drysdale, Mintyukov, or Zellweger over any name on the above list.
Should include the Jackets too

Probably top 3 future Dcore

Werenski, Jiricek, Mateychuk

Along wirh Boqvist, Bean, Peake Coulemans

They won't keep all of them, but some seriously high end players going to come from that group

Was just using the previous list. If I wanted to add, I’d also include my homerism pick of Fox + Miller!

I clearly stated that they have a shot to be in that group. Meaning they arent there but could be in there. Not sure how i couldve said that any clearer.

I have yet to see any Michigan games covered on ESPN+ so I haven't seen him play, but how has his defense looked? It looked night and day at the WJC this past summer.

From what I've seen, good. Really finding ways to use his incredible skating to cut off dangerous chances. Large part of the reason his "slow" start wasn't troubling, it looks like there's an increased focus on becoming a 200 foot player.

His entire game is more well rounded this season. Part of the reasoning for returning this year. I personally think he'll end up with equal or more points vs last season (maybe less goals) but it's been a great start for both Luke and Michigan.
