Well, I'm a lifelong Canucks fan (25+ years), and Quinn Hughes is single most impactful player I've ever seen wear our colours. He makes little plays every single game that the average fan doesn't even notice, but my jaw is on the floor.

You could argue Jack is on a trajectory to be even better...
If Luke is better than that, then NJD may very well be a dynasty team.

Will be so fun to watch these guys going forward.

You're absolutely right. I mean flip a coin on which one ends up being the best, just a personal opinion on Luke. I love Jack and everything but Luke has some fire in him.

But have we ever had a more fun set of siblings like this? sans your former twins of course. I might be forgetting some...Schenns and Staals are the only prominent ones that come to mind recently. Is D. Toews related to Jonathan?

from your lips to gods ears on the dynasty...wouldn't bank on it until they get a good goalie, and coaches with a decent system.

And while I realize no one cares about others' fantasy team, I just traded for Luke this week to go along with Quinn and Jack who I was fortunate enough to draft. Gave up the #7 pick in this year's draft and Broberg. I don't even care if it was a slight overpay, I wanted to have all the Hughes. I need to come up with some clever name.

I find that surprising given the Sedins but maybe they don’t count due to what a package deal they were. Quite the praise for Quinn.

Both my keeper pools all thought lowly of Luke while I contemplated him at #1 over Power and I can’t believe I got him in both pools at 8 and 10. Getting Power in the same draft and after trading for Edvinson and having Seider, I’m just feeling pretty great about it all. Keep it going, Luke. Becoming a bigger fan by the day.

Haha I was thinking the same as I just wrote my fantasy hockey story out above.

And while I’m commenting on fantasy value here, I think it applies to the real world as well. I think I’d rather have Luke over the 7th in this draft year and Broberg and it’s not really close. I’m an Oilers fan too.

I personally still think he's the third best Hughes brother, despite the size...

and that's one heck of a player.
Any of the three of them could eventually pull themselves ahead as the best brother, I think thats whats so fun about watching siblings in the NHL that are all really good. So often we get brothers where one is much better or something unbalanced.

personally, i've watched all three a lot both with ntdp and michigan and i'd put some serious money on Luke being the best of the three. Luke's personality is extremely competitive and intense. Watching the michigan bench this year several times and the dude gets really fired up and really pissed when they lose. I think he makes the biggest improvements in his game through his career and that puts him ahead of jack and quinn.

Yeah it's crazy how talented the three of them are. Probably the most equally talented trio of brothers the league has seen.

I've witnessed Bure, Mogilny, Luongo, Naslund, even Sundin for a brief period.
None have the day-in-day-out impact that Quinn has on the game imo.

He can definitely still improve upon his overall game, but he does the kind of things with the puck that made me fall in love with the Sport in the first place.

I do consider Henrik and Daniel as a package deal. They were special talents, but playing together is what made them special. Will be interesting to see if Jack and Luke have an inherent brotherly dynamic.

He said 25 years and I know I’m dating myself but I figured he missed Bure(couldn’t remember the 90’s THAT well). That was one of the most electrifying players ever.

i totally forgot about the Tkatchuks! oopps my bad. I take everything i said back! LOL
So technically yes emphasis on the trio part...duos though... give me some Matt & Brady
sitting here watching the Calgary game feeling dumb!

I don’t understand the idea that players should be compared based on how they’d be ranked in another draft. It’s worthwhile to point out when someone is old or young for their own draft, but you can’t compare them to how they’d slot in another draft. There are way too many things that you can’t properly balance.

It’s also way too early to do a 2021 redraft. You need 4-5 years post-draft before you can start doing a proper re-draft.

Hughes has done extremely well this season, and I don’t know why anyone doubted he was a top 5 player in the past draft. The player he reminds me most of is Thomas Chabot.

No doubt he will be good, heck he already is but Makar-level? Naw, don’t see it.

I really hope he ends up a more responsible player than Chabot...

I hope so too. He had a bad turnover against the Norway that led to a goal. Mostly he was pretty good and steady, but when he gets more experience he will understand when to avoid unnecessary risks. As a defenseman, for example, you don't lead the attack, when your team is leading the game 3-2 and there is 2 minutes time left in the game clock.

As someone who watched a lot of Michigan games because of Power, he has a lot of work to clean up in his own end.

Offensively, sky could be the limit and he's gonna be playing with a talented upcoming Devils squad.

Coming back for his sophomore season will help that a lot - he can refine those parts of his game while not having the weight of a NHL franchise on his shoulders. Gain some leadership experience potentially captaining the US world junior team.

Could be Makar-lite is apt. As a fantasy-owner I project him to become a 50-60 point player. With his pedigree and what we've seen in his D+1 season, I don't think that is being unrealistic.
Thanks lol, tried to preface that as much as I could. Not saying he will be the best D in the NHL, just that he has the tools to play in a similar vain to Makar. Which even a lite version could be insanely valuable.

This is pretty much the reason I am not as much a fan of his game. The rush offense and his on-puck skills are great but there is a lot missing from his defensive game that will take a lot of time to develop if it ever really does. Because of that I'm not sure if he's capable of being a true #1 defenseman.
