Itll be interesting to see how much his Defense can improve over the next couple seasons.First 3 shifts are a great example of Lane Hutson.
He made an awesome play at the blue line for his first point, and then got completely lost in his own zone, leading to a goal against.
He's gonna be on the ice for a lot of goals in his career, for both teams lol.
Phil Housley kind of player?First 3 shifts are a great example of Lane Hutson.

Its a tough night as a Red Wings fan where we need points to keep playoff hopes alive but on the other hand I wanted Hutson to have absolutely light it up on his first game. Who do I take scheduling complaints to? Bettman? Yeah, I'll just complain and blame him - it feels right. FGB.
I find him very shifty and agile. His skating strides are kinda choppy. A good summer of power skating is going to do absolute wonders for him.
He will get better defensively with time spent learning the Habs system. He will get better offensively as well as he grows and gains experience.First 3 shifts are a great example of Lane Hutson.

He looked out of place a couple of times already. Not that uncommon for a 20 years old who signed his first contract days ago.Itll be interesting to see how much his Defense can improve over the next couple seasons.
Oh ya, its expected at this age/experienceHe looked out of place a couple of times already. Not that uncommon for a 20 years old who signed his first contract days ago.
His poise, vision and puck handling skills are off the chart. As you said, it will be interesting to see how his defensive game evolved over the next couple of years.

But most of the questions about Hutson will be how he handles forecheck/physicality and how he handles the Dzone when other team has the puck.
His offense will come, hes just too shifty.
I feel like Brandt Clarke has a similar style to himI used to call them waterbugs. They are hard to defend.

Detroit isn't the heaviest team, but he handled the forecheck from Fabbri with ease. He's already won at least one puck battle in a corner. Obviously he's not going to out muscle people, but he'll be able to use his head and his feet a lot.Oh ya, its expected at this age/experience

He looks good with speed… I think only Matheson is faster than him.His skating strides are kinda choppy. A good summer of power skating is going to do absolute wonders for him.
par the course for most young defensemen. Though Hutson may be an extreme case. This kid is really, really tiny. Larkin got around him and drove the net with Hutson hanging all over him like he wasn’t even there. Looks really good with the puck though.
