Obviously I'm sure you don't have Nurse as the best D coming out of this draft but do you even have him as the undisputed #2 D?

I dunno, I feel that Jones, Nurse and Subban all have similar...playing styles.

Mark my words this guy is going to be the best defenseman out of this draft. A pure athlete, 6'5 , great skater, great shot, tough as nails. Teams like the Oilers should be looking at these guys at the draft table. He reminds me of a bigger P.K Subban. Steal of the draft at 8th or later.

To be honest I don't a huge opinion on him. I've only seen him play a couple of times and they were online viewings of him at the Under-18's last summer.

What I can say about him is that he's extremely athletic and has all the tools to be a top 2 defenceman on an NHL club. With that being said, I haven't seen enough of him to confidently say that he's got the "tool box" to make that potential into a reality.

Overall I have no doubts that he's a top 10-12 talent for the draft and think that he's probably on some teams radars as a top 5-7 pick. Hard to say where he compares to guys like Zadorov or Ristolainen, but he's likely probably just a half notch ahead of guys like Pulock, Morrissey, Mueller and Bowey, guys I'm more familiar with.

I don't really see the Subban comparisons as he really isn't a puck rusher or pure offensive defeceman.

His game reminds me of Chris Pronger Not saying he is the next Pronger, but he plays like Pronger did in junior. Nasty, mean and physical. Solid defensively with a heavy shot and underrated offence.

Don't think we'll see him pass Seth Jones ever but I think he's going to be an elite NHL dman. I could see him going in the top5 to a team wanted a defenceman.

Comparing a kid to Pronger really throws everything off and sets everything off on the wrong foot, IMO. Really hate throwing out the lofty comparisons like that for any player.

That being said, I absolutely love this guy's physical package. His skating/agility on his feet for such a big guy is going to allow him to be nasty at the NHL level if he wants to be, and I'm sure he will. His skating is more advanced than other big guys drafted high lately like Gudbranson or Jared Cowen. He's way more comfortable handling the puck than other guys with good tools and mean streaks like Siemens, Teubert and even Gudbranson probably. He keeps his game pretty simple, crisp passes, calm plays, with shots that hit the net, he's definitely not anything fancy back there like Subban at all - awful comparison whoever came up with that. His skating and the athleticism/agility he shows in his recoveries is a HUGE asset considering his size. If I was to compare I'd probably say he's like Bouwmeester with an edge - and that's a damn good player and top pairing guy. This player is NOT Karlsson or Subban - he's not driving the bus offensively from the back-end and creating scoring chances on rushes up the ice. If anything, he's a nasty throwback defender who plays a pretty simple game with excellent skating ability.

Yes! I remember similar comparisons when Erik Johnson was drafted number 1 overall. How did that turn out?

Actually, only 4 months but a point well taken. At that age it can be huge.

Anyway, I would not be surprised in Nurse is a better NHL player. At this age, you really never know.

I know nothing about this kid.

Subban and Proger get thrown out as comps all the time.

Is he anything like Bouwmeester in his draft year? Perhaps a Jared Cowen (underrated offense but a big "defensive minded" guy"? I'm just trying to get a better sense of what he is, and not so much what he projects to be. Everyone in the top 10 is "projected" to be top line material.

He's probably the top 10-15 prospect I know the least about - IDK why

Comparing either to subban is stupid. When your comparing prospects you compare them at the same age, and subban was no where near as good at 17/18 as either. He also had weaker competition his draft year and still wasn't a stand out. He was just developed almost perfectly. This is like the Kane and Iginla comparison.

Your actually not the first guy I heard say he might be better then Seth Jones. But interesting to see what happens. He's listed as 6'3. Is he really 6'3?
