With Medvedev, Panarin and other Russians coming over, what's the chances a young guy like Mironov decides to come? This kid has a ton of potential from my understanding ...

Had a poor showing at the WC, too many turnovers. The speed of the games against the Americans and Canadians were just moving too fast for him.

He needs another couple of years in the KHL, I think. But he will be a good one, most likely. I'm a fan.

Just drafted by the Avalanche with a 4th round pick. :handclap:

Cool, thanks. So you'd be a bit surprised if he ever established himself in the NHL given his draft position I assume?

Him coming over is the biggest hurdle. I think he could play in the NHL tomorrow in some capacity. Probably never a top 4 guy but I think he'd be valuable enough.

Like others have said, he could compete for a roster spot as is. Spending a couple of years more with Dynamo can only help him, the only question is if he has any inclination to come over in the future. If he does he has NHL future ahead of him.

Back from an injury and back to his usual hard-hitting stuff:

I can't wait for him and Zadorov to be on the roster next year. It'll be fun having a defense that other teams are wary of. You can already see players being aware of where Zadorov is on the ice, and being more careful on zone entries with him.

Is Boikov in Avs plans also? He seems to be doing well in AHL.

Who knows if the Avs actually have any NHL plans for Boikov, but they seem to like him; he's had a very nice first season in the AHL; and he has the full toolset to become a nifty third pairing guy. I expect him to play for the Avs AHL affiliate for another two seasons, and then if it doesn't look like they're going to give him a shot; going to the KHL to continue his development there.

It's tough to know with the avs, because the organization has quickly quit on some talented but non-bluechip prospects who could've become useful if kept around and given a chance...Kyle Wood being the prime example atm...So you never really know with Avs prospects unless they're the top guys like Rantanen/Zadorov/Jost, or guys they really like a lot who haven't had serious snags like Greer/Compher/Meloche.

Yes I think so, they've given him a pretty big role there and even PP time. As cgf said, Avs are very fickle especially to those who aren't sure bets but he seems to be on a good track.

I'm happy with the Mironov news too, will be a welcome addition.

I really hope the rumors are true and the Avs can bring over Mironov next year, he would play immediately.

It would be interesting to see both Mironov and Zadorov patrolling the Avs blue line.

The Avs may have to pick up an enforcer (even though the era of the enforcer has passed). Zadorov and Mironov could start a lot of brawls.

Dynamo Moscow GM confirmed that Mironov is expected to sign with the Avs.
