This kid was full of potential a couple of years ago, how is he generally looking in the AHL?
He’s just really solid. Not a liability whatsoever. Holds down the fort, adds a bit of offense though doesn’t get the chances Edvinsson does for obvious reasons. Deserves a cup of coffee at some point in the show this year. Once the logjam ahead of them clears there should be a Seider, Edvinsson, Walman, Johansson, Wallinder, plus company backend in Detroit.

I think the Wings are pretty high on him. Lidstrom and others have singled him out multiple times over the past few years when asked about prospects they're excited about.

I have relatively high expectations for Johansson when he makes his debut, as the Wings fans I follow have hyped him up quite a bit.
I really enjoyed watching Albert in Farjestad, but until he can show it in the NHL, I will remain cautiously optimistic at best.

He needs to prove that he can match the physical and intensity demands of playing in the NHL and that his skating and reading of the game is good enough to overcome his size.

His spot in the lineup is basically guarenteed this year per SY due to him not being waiver eligible

I have a hard time seeing him as more than a third pair D on a bubble team.

Him stepping straight up into the lineup without any previous NHL games is a bit concerning.

I am hoping he surprises me.

He’s always been what he is, and what he’s going to be at the NHL level. A solid role playing dman in the NHL, and that career starts this fall.

He does lots of the little things that make a good dman. His retrieval skills are very good, he moves the puck very well, makes good decisions, and he’s got some speed to transport the puck.

He’s not going to carry a pairing in the NHL. He’s gonna be a very solid partner for players who can though.

What’s this kid’s future look like? 24 games this season - 3 points. Could he be a legit piece to an NHL lineup or is he one of those guys stuck in purgatory?

Looks very good on the second pairing next to Edvinsson. Rookie mistakes but should be a decent #4. Chiarot on the top pairing and the AHL level bottom pairing are our issues.

He was showing flashes here and there of being a an NHL regular but Lalonde jerked him in and out of the lineup. 0 points in 16 games then

Since McLellan and the injury to Petry, he's got 3 points in those 8 games and is looking great next to Edvinsson. 20 mins of ice time last game and he hasn't played any special teams yet. He just looks more confident and not worried about being spare parts to the coach

He's definitely got the poise, stick work and ability to battle hard for pucks then skate out of trouble. Offensively is where I've been most surprised. He's been walking the line confidently, shooting at the net and making plays

Got a future as a #5 with a good chance at being a solid #4 IMO. He should not be going back in the pressbox, that should be Justin Holl
