11 points in the last 12 games. Tied for 6th most points in a season by an under 20 SHL defender with former Swedish great, Freddy Olausson.
3 more points to tying Victor Hedman for 4th.

On an absolute heater right now, good for him.

His team has taken up the same pre-game doorknob licking ritual as Malmo. As a result his team is on a pause due to COVID.

Albert Johansson´s regular season is almost finished (one game left) and it was pretty great.

8 Goals 10 Assists in 43 GP
+16, 14PIM, 69 SOG and an average ice time of 17:21

Really in love with his skating ability, the best skater in the Redwings prospect pipeline imo.
Will be very exciting to see how he develops in the next few years. He has to get stronger, then he definitely has a chance to be a Top 4 NHL Dman.

Here´s a season recap showing off a few of his goals, assists, skating etc with a few nice interview snippets. (from youtube channel IceHockeyGifs)

Watched little bit today Albert. Played ton , very solid, great skating. My hockey app shows that he is LD, but he was playing on the right side

Albert eclipsed a lot of his SEL peers in the point production at even strength with a projected 37.9 points at ES per 80 games.
As a comparison standpoint, the highly touted prospect Nils Lundqvist had an even strength point production of 23 points
This guy deserves more hype.

Top 10 Even strength Dman (normalized data; min 12 mins ES per g)
The projected ES points was normalized using the average ES ice time of the top 20 Dmen in the SHL this season (16min 40 seconds) and applied as an 80 game schedule

I am but a mere stat-follower on this guy, so ... grain of salt.

But 6 points in 7 games as a 21-year-old D-man in the SHL is awesome! Plus is earlier aforementioned solid stats the two seasons prior in the SHL.

Can any Swedish posters enlighten me: should we be paying more attention to Albert?

I think he'll play in the NHL eventually so yeah, probably.

I see him as a solid allround second pair D playing on the 2nd PP unit if things go right.

He's weirdly overlooked imo.

Last season he had more even strength goals/points than Nils Lundkvist and was the youngest player on the national team.
So far he has 6 points in 7 games, all at even strength.

Sticks out on the SHL dman leaderboard in two ways.... very low SOG relative the others and very low TOI... anyone watching him with input on these two things?

4 SOG? He's been getting his shots tipped so maybe that might have something to do with it...

I'm also dead certain he's got more than 3 hits. He's thrown some pretty good highlight worthy hits so far

You can take Detroit Redwings legend Niklas Lidstrom's take on it. He has a very postive impression of Albert.
