Last half or so of podcast discusses hearing, fall out. One key point:

Why did Hockey Canada settle without finishing their investigation? Friedman's lawyer contacts believe that due to underage drinking and the fact that it was a Hockey Canada event, they were liable (and mainly why insurance didn't pay out).

Why didn't they compel players to participate in investigation? (Perhaps the NHL will be able to compel participation?)

The excuse from Hockey Canada is that since players are on loan or "borrowed" from junior teams, Hockey Canada couldn't compel them to participate/cooperate with the investigation. They of course left out, and tried to dance around the question when asked, the fact that they could have made future participation with HC contingent on cooperating with investigations.

Why are admins closing threads on this topic in the NHL forum claiming it's "not related"? Are we pretending there are no current and former NHLers involved?
Seems like the same approach as hockey Canada. Shift the responsibility until it’s in a place where nobody talks about it.

Neither HC or even the NHL has the power to compel anyone to do anything. What is the worst HC can do, ban that player from anything HC related? NHL would have a fight with the PA if they banned someone without cause.

Paywall (probably).

Yahoo Sports story.

Code of conduct for Hockey Canada did not include off ice conduct. That is one thing that needs to change.

Doesn't look like any major sponsor/partner has dropped HC yet but they must be watching closely.

I would love the government to stop funding them until they review their whole policies and change the whole board of directors. The hockey culture need to evolve and they clearly are laughing at us with their comments regarding the whole situation.

Big:

Not overly surprised. Just very sad that we even have to waste the time and money going through meetings

Canadian House of Commons calls for investigation

Interesting Scotiabank is a HUGE hockey sponsor, and apparently it's been a very happy relationship.

Of course the cynic in me wonders if the "pause" is just over the summer when hockey isn't playing anyways...

Hosted in Canada, WJC are coming early August. As sponsors are finally speaking out with dollars, hopefully HC will take a much more proactive way for managing this crisis.

Telus is withdrawing the sponsorship of Hockey Canada. Esso is now continuing to their relationship but says they are now monitoring the situation.
