stranger things have happened. sometimes 40 point 20 goal players get to play on McD's wing and score 50 in a career year, all you need is to get McD also.
But he didn't play on the wing with McD, and he did it twice.

So what you're saying is a hockey trade one for one would probably make the most sense

I think they probably have some master plan with all these great but under 25 year old guys.

It’s really hard to predict how it will turn up yeah?

There’s just so many top 6 winger potential who also sometimes play center with Keller and schmaltz, McBain, and Guenther. Then there’s also macelli and hayton and cooley. And doan. There’s no room for Crouse - maybe if they “downgraded” and got a guy who was appropriate for the bottom 6 they could move Crouse, but they don’t need futures, they have too many. There’s more high pedigree non nhl top 6 talent in their system like Iginla, Beaudoine. Where are these guys going to play?

I’m personally guessing Utah will land a giant contract. Big splashy thing to sell tickets. But idk. Rantanen is my guess. Or some crazy Marchand deal. Or pasta if Boston retool. Or nyrs scraps/panarin retool. They have the assets, cap structure, and motivation to big game hunt. Maybe Crouse is a part of that or maybe something happens and he gets better icetime.

If they just give Crouse away I think whoever gets him has become dfv. Deeeeeep f’n value in Lawson Crouse.

To be honest, I think the Blackhawks should be all over this if available as it's exactly what their lineup needs and they have the trade capital to make it happen

Crouse + Lipkin + your own 2nd in '26 for Pinto?
I wouldn’t add the second on Ottawa’s end - Pinto is the more valuable player between the two, and one of the prospects helps close that gap.

I was thinking one of them because Ottawa doesn’t have much in the forward pipeline, and they’re semi-promising prospects but even then, they likely never see the NHL. I think both players have the value of a 3rd round pick.

Utah has Ottawa's second in '26 via Chychrun trade, no other assets than Pinto from Ottawa was included in my proposal

He'd be a great fit for Tampa and the price may not be insane given the down year he's having.
