Players values don't just crater after 30 games of a bad season. Crouse brings a hell of a lot more than just points or goals as well.
Then a Joshua trade makes sense cause they are the same player except Crouse is a bit better but Joshua is a bit cheaper.

A guy who is 2 years older than Crouse, has 3 seasons of NHL games under his belt, has hit close to 20g once, and is 1m cheaper than Crouse is "basically the same player"?

What incentive would there be for Utah to trade for a 1m cheaper player who has never hit close to Crouse's peak when they have 13m in cap space?

Like, this isn't a swap that makes any remote sense for Utah.

They can go after Marner or Rantanen with the added cap space during the offseason and use the extra cap to boost their offence.

Considering they also have 14 expiring contracts I think they'll do just fine. Could easily get the money for that + a McBain raise just by not signing Kerfoot and Maatta let alone the other players.
