This is the worst loss in Canadian World Junior history. People can mention Kazakhstan but that was a meaningless classification round game to determine who get 7th and who got 8th, which doesn't even exist anymore.

This team now has to win Gold, or else any other outcome will make the questionable roster construction pretty glaring. There are some great players sitting at home that I think would have been more useful selections than some of the ones they brought.

They've medaled at the world championships before. Just because TSN keeps pretending like they've never accomplished nothing doesn't make it true. Didn't Latvia nearly beat Canada at the actual olympics too?

The Latvian junior team has NEVER medalled. And Latvia medalled for the first time in history last year at the World Championships. This is their 3rd tournament win ever. Let them celebrate.
