I agree. When I do satyre here I'm not totally serious. The context of the joke as a good punch line.Putting the onus on the coaching staff is a bit ridiculous. The progression the team has had so far since MSL's hiring should be enough to give them the benefit of doubt.
Ducharme was 8-30-7 on the season when MSL came in. That's about 42 points prorated for 82 games. The 76 points last season, while also leading in games lossed by 1 goal is much progression for a club that still has so many holes on the roster.
MS has us playing well as a 5 on 5 team....................we are losing games all the time because of the brutal play by the not so special teams...............tired of it.What pisses me off is that they didn't make the pp issue a priority.
Our PP is a huge issue. How many losses could have been wins with just a decent pp last season?
No adjustment was made. They hardly practiced it. No new strategy attempts. No new transition game. Still the same setup in the o zone. Still only one D at the point. Nothing is tried except for praying it will magically start to work. This screams incompetence to me.
The PP issues really are baffling to me. It's been like 10 years now that the PP stinks. We've changed coaches multiple times, new GM, almost all the players have chnaged, and yet it's the same issues year after year.

Too late. I pulled that alarm 5 years ago.Because we didn't have a true QB on the PP. There's nothing baffling about that.
Let's see how Hutson will do before sounding the alarm.
Try 7 years ago, when we let our last true bonafide PP QB just walk away.Too late. I pulled that alarm 5 years ago.
You would think that someone would have emerged in all this time. It's been almost 10 years. It's not like we didn't have anybody. This team may not have had offensive superstars but we have and have had talent.Because we didn't have a true QB on the PP. There's nothing baffling about that.

Over the last 10 years almost all the players have changed over multiple times. What we haven’t changed is the talent
Talent =/= PPQBYou would think that someone would have emerged in all this time. It's been almost 10 years. It's not like we didn't have anybody. This team may not have had offensive superstars but we have and have had talent.

A big guy in front of the goalie, hard to move, good on deflections, a new Perry. I think that works in PP.I’m fine with the horrible PP track record in the pre-season, it should help Hutson get a chance on PP1 faster.
NB it’s always the same with the Habs PP, no one with size in front of the goalie = no goals

Wow......
Things will have to fail for a while before the coach replaces the vet with the rookie on PP1 unfortunatelyBecause we didn't have a true QB on the PP. There's nothing baffling about that.

the system never changes, because we've never had a stud #1 C or D to control the PP. All this team knows how to do is cycle , shoot from the point, and hope for a goal. We will continue to stink on the PP until they get a generational C to control the play. Suzuki is a fine C, but he's not elite in the NHL.
But.. draft 15-30 and we won't get better any time soon. If they could just finish bad enough to go top 3 in this years draft, there are solutions available. Throw in Demidov, Hutson, the rest of the crew (maybe Laine returns to 30+ goals) and the PP is something to watch again. We agree the NHL is all special teams these days, so they need a legit generational player to bring back the glory days to Montreal.
The other classic is lotsa people around the net (sides, back) but not in FRONT of the net.
What about Mike Matheson?!Because we didn't have a true QB on the PP. There's nothing baffling about that.
Let's see how Hutson will do before sounding the alarm.
Have you ever seen Matheson walk the blueline during the PP instead of planting himself straight in the middle of the zone and passing left right without creating anything? What about Mike Matheson?!
