Could have picked the guy at 32

Wanted Kaliyev. Would have traded up for Krebs.

Not happy with this nonsense

If he's guy you want, but can't find a GM that wants to trade up, surrendering an asset, then you don't take the chance and wait for the 2nd round, you draft him with your 2oth pick.

There's also something to be said about learning the North American game. Faster speeds, having to make decisions quicker,and getting through a more physical style of game. That's quite important, for defensemen especially.

Not arguing that, just illustrating what his incentive might be.

Good numbers.

Ok so he has a big shot and plays the right side. And he’s Finnish so that’s cool.

It was the Oilers, doesn't that just about confirm he was a bad pick? :laugh:

We'll see how it all shakes out. I understand why a chunk of the fanbase is upset, but I trust the scouts.

Tkachuk = upset fans
Karlsson = upset fans
Lazar = fanbase is thrilled

Maybe the fans (largely) don't know what the hell they're talking about :laugh:
Lazar was a disappointing pick from day one.

Meh, I would rather have Bjornfot, Suzuki or Foote. Bjornfot and Foote kill for me in EHM.

Would be good numbers if he was 17, but he's a late birthday, so it's his 18YR old season. Far under a PPG isn't that impressive for an offensive defenseman in his 18YR old season.

Although you can make the case that making the adjustment to North American hockey and playing for a poor offensive team in Kelowna likely reduced his numbers a bit though.

Draft for need. Right Dman who can move the puck are as rare as starting goalie. Good skater is always an asset, very smooth looking player.

Looks like Thomas Kaberle with Bryan mcCabes shot

This to me says the Sens had a RD list and wanted to draft a RD and this was the next guy in their list. Maybe not best player available but best player on their RD list.

Also tells me Ceci and DeMelo will
Get traded this year. Since trading EK Sens have taken 2 RD in the 1st round

I'm still not a fan of this pick, but it hurts less knowing the guys that I really wanted at 19 were off the board.

We should get a nice player at 32nd, heck, the guy Bob had ranked 19th is still available, hopefully when all is said and done, I can just ignore the order and be happy with the sum of the picks.
