Speculation: Larkin trade return

  • If you are having issues logging in, we have found opening the log in page in a new tab/window rather than using the pop out should resolve these issues. We are working to get this resolved and thank you for patience.
  • Due to the increased volume of league transactions, the Trade Rumors and Free Agent Talk section is temporarily restricted to where threads may only be started by moderators and sponsors. We anticipate that this restriction will be lifted some time after the first round of the draft.
Getting Robertson, I afraid is a mistake, his demands probably CAT + Kane PAY. Id rather get younger and wait longer .

Have you seen how much cap space we're working with? He wants between $12m and $14m per. We can more than afford that.

Time to stop screwing around with guppies and start going after the big fish.

We also need to pay Edvinsson and resign Cat , he will not going to get Benson money. Is not worth to pay one guy 14 million, while we are going to get bitten every time we play Ottawa. Robertson will help to keep this team mediocre. Id rather get guy like Desnoyers and picks and draft high next 2 seasons

Have you seen the division? They aren't winning anything anytime soon. Mushy middle is the worst place to be,

I wonder if a three team deal can be worked out:
* (Sign and trade for) Robertson and Cossa to Utah
* Larkin and Simashev to Dallas
* Peterka, Iginla, and Desnoyers to Detroit

Utah gets a premium player and a young goaltender they've been rumored to be interested in.
Dallas gets a win-now center and a high end defensive prospect.
Detroit gets a young roster player and two premium prospects.

It empties the cupboard in Utah quite a bit. But they're getting the best player in the deal who also fits their existing timeline perfectly.

The cap is $104 million. We have $74.9 million in salary, which currently includes Larkin's contract. The cap floor is $76.9 million. There aren't a lot of teams in this league that can afford it, but we're absolutely one of 'em.

Yep. I also think there's no evidence yet to suggest all our division opponents just lapped us. What I see is a bunch of people crying about the moves other teams made and making it seem like we have no path forward.

It's entirely possible that we will sink to the bottom of the division. It's also possible that we kick some real ass with the Larkin trade that springboards us to making other moves. We really don't know, do we? No... no we don't.
