Speculation: Larkin trade return

Building up assets and incremental improvement is so important to building a team. If we managed to pull off Larkin for Robertson, we’d get younger and get a better winger in Robertson than we had center in Larkin at the cost of cap space that we have in abundance. Then you keep looking to build from there

IF and thats is a monumental IF the "report" of larkin being lukewarm on ana its possible it could be for tax reasons. if that is the case, texas is a no tax state.

dallas ownership made it pretty clear they dont want to pay robertson when he negotiated his last contract.

for dallas, they lose a bit of offence but for that they gain amazing center depth and a yearly 30 goal scorer who is cost controlled for the next 5 years

for larkin, dallas is ready to win now, no state tax, he can be A guy instead of THE guy

for detroit, convince robertson that this next season is a write off but that you will be extremely aggressive (and actually do it) to fix the roster and maybe be a wild card team in 2 years. if he wont bite, flip him for futures and commit to a fullish rebuild or for a center for a quicker retool.

for robertson, detroit will give him a blank check

my post from last friday, got some pushback then but now everyones on the robertson train. ive called this for a week now broskies

the only question is does he want to be in detroit or is the money enough to get him to sign or is he not interested at all? but if hes not then we could flip him for assets.

But what you can fault them on his not trading for him when he's a known superstar in his prime.

hughes was HIGHLY touted in his draft year, and he was right in our own backyard. not to mention the fact that this team trotted out the following defence in 18-19:

Well we have to not suck for players to come… I don’t even think Robertson will want to come here with how we are atm. So long as Dallas trades him to a team where they can send us the high end assets they get for Larkin and helps us speed this shit in a couple years I’ll be happy

I think the next CBA might include some tweaks to NMCs/NTCs. I can see some owners not liking the direction this is heading.

"How we are at the moment" is firmly dictated by what we get for Larkin. So, if we get Robertson (as an example) for Larkin, we are a whole lot better than if we get a collection of magic beans and rotten apples. Let's not pretend picks and prospects are gonna "speed this shit up in a couple years". It's not.

They will if they’re not shit prospects. I’m talking about Desnoyers etc… type guys not pick #27

I don’t think even if we get Robertson we’d make the playoffs next year
