He is the best Habs skater by a large margin since the begin of the season, he makes a weak 2nd PP wave dangerous on his own. He generates so much offensively and always makes the smart play. Defensively he is alright, I was curious to see how he would handle himself, but so far so good, kid is really smart and combative. He is a beauty to watch.

Ok so you tell me that @Goldenhands isn't dead, It's been a very long time that I see you posting something.

That's my best feeling in my entire life since yesterday and my 10 SevenUp Hard 7% alcohol in my veins!!

Welcome back!! 🥳🥳

It was mostly one poster who is still finding things to complain about regarding him.

There was more than one Hutson detractors. Something we heard here often is that he wouldn't be more than a bottom pairing pp specialist because of his defense.

That didn't make sense. They didn't give his defense enough credit, but even if his defense was bad, it still wouldn't make sense to only use him on the bottom pairing when his offensive impact is so great. He has such a big impact offensively that you want him on the ice more often. Its not like all elite dmen were good defensively (Karlsson, Letang, Hughes, etc.), so the idea he shouldn't be playing in the top 4 because of his defense never made any sense.

He's honestly our best player with the puck on his stick, the vision is just Markovesque.

This player change the dynamic of this team.

Can't imagine how good this team will be with the addition of Laine/Demidov/Hage/Beck/Reinbacher/Mailloux/Engstrom/Dobes/Fowler and dare I say Mesar?

+ Another 2 x 1st 2025.

The future looks good!
Seriously, Reinbacher injury hurt us so much. I has hoping we could see both of Hutson and Reinbacher by January with the Habs.

I can see a
Hutson-Reinbacher
Matheson-Guhle

good top 4.

To a point, his defense coverage is the most surprising feature right now. I think we all baked in, if you will, his uncanny offensive ability.

But how he does his D is VERY different. Stick, skating forward with the attacker to cut the available space, unrelenting pursuits. It’s very unconventional and was susceptible to questions.

The results are that he’s just as good as any dman we have defensively. This is amazing and more than we could want so far. I’m in love my man

The fact that so many posters were crying about Bobrov now looks so ridiculously dumb in hindsight.

I still feel like we should have picked Mitchkov, but the Hutson pick and Slafkovsky pick are looking f***ing good, I must admit

At this point, it's feels like we have drafted the 1st and 2nd best players in 2022 draft lol

I wouldn't trade Slaf or Hutson for any players in this draft aswell.

Honestly? I don't think I would either, at this point at least

If PP2 is outplaying PP1, make some moves to get PP1 better and play them for 1:30.

Personally, that's what I would first try :

PP1 :
Caufield Suzuki Slaf
Hutson Matheson

PP2:
Armia - Dach - Gallagher
Guhle - Newhook

But eventually end up with :

PP1 :

Caufield Dach Slaf
Hutson Suzuki

PP2:

Armia - Newhook - Gallagher
Guhle - Matheson

I was worried about his size given his flamboyant style of play, dancing around guys and thought he would get lit up when he hit the NHL - but so far that hasn't been the case at all. The way he made Tavares look like a pylon was gorgeous. Took a big (and late) hit from Bwaady Tkschmuck and was fine. So far, Hutson has been pure dynamite.

Someone is going to break their ankles trying to keep up with him.

Suzuki was right when he said he looks like Quinn Hughes. I thought he was exaggerating at first but he's clearly a unique talent. Something happens every time he touches the puck and he's very good at dodging hits. Wouldn't be surprised if he has the most points on the team by the end of the season.

Jury is still out for Mesar and Beck too. I feel like people bust Mesar way too soon.

I admit I'm one of those, for Mesar
I hope I'm dead wrong

As for Beck, I'm hopeful he'll be part of the team at some point
But right now, I don't even know where I'd fit him lol
I don't think he's better than Evans or Newhook (as of now)

As of now no but Evans will be 29 next season and will likely cost close to 3 millions for about 4 years. Not sure i'd sign that contract personally.
