Might want to temper those expectations just a tad, OP.

14 points in 24 games this season, he play very well in both side. He show really high offensive potential in his game. Close to score 2-3 goals this year aswell with great highlights.

Can he have the same impact of Q.Hughes or Makar?
All the options are overly positive. Like the player but don’t see him having a complete enough game to be on a winning club. Will get points, but sacrifices too much defensively to do so.

Clarke (and Edvinsson) getting the pair of 6 game seasons to lose calder eligibility has unfortunately cooked the narrative for them
This isn’t a Calder trophy thread

But yes… Clarke edvinsson and zellweger went Calder eligible

The fact that they aren't eligible for the calder makes people percieve them as less.

Hutson is having a worse season than them by far, but he's the best calder eligible dman in a weak crop, whereas there's no awards that Clarke or Edvinsson will be competing for, keeping their names less in the spotlight as well as the perception of them being less of "prospects" and "upside".

I view Makar and Hughes careers as two different levels. Hughes is in his best stretch now, but I don’t believe over the course of his career he will be of a similar caliber and I don’t even believe in their careers so far that he has been.

He can be as good or better than Hughes. I think he’s probably a little bit better than Hughes at the same point. Obviously Hughes got a lot better over the years, so Hutson has a long way to go, but it’s doable.

Not Makar. Doesn’t skate well enough for his size for that.

Ah yes, Arber Xhekaj has officially given way to the newest appointee of the Annual Habs Savior throne! Past inductees including Mike Komisarek and Josh Gorges look on with pride!

I think he'll be as good as Makar and Hughes in the same way Poehling became as good as Matthews.
