He's like that squirrel crossing the road who has to stop to remember what he is doing. With MM it happens when the puck is passed back to him at point on the PP, there is a delay before he decides what to do. If he could move it a bit faster he would be so much better. When he does try to play faster he gets ahead of himself and does not pick up the puck cleanly. Key to defending mtl PP with MM out there is to pressure MM. With Hutson it just seems instinctual offensively- puck comes to him and he reacts with it.

Wait, I’m confused. Are you implying that Luke Hughes has been disappointing this year? Ask a Devils fan. Most are absolutely floored by his leap in defensive play. No one cares about the points, he’s been so good.
