Hutson's secret weapon in the calder race: he's still living with his mom. Imagine how many points Michkov would have if his mom was there to do his laundry. Advanced stats need context. I want to know Hutson's xGF/meatballs in mom's spaghetti.

All these xGF or advanced stats are so useless.

Hockey is all about entertainment, watching xGf sheet is not.

Hutson is one of the most entertaining player in the league right now. Fans love watching him play. People should maybe, as a suggestion, enjoy watching the game instead of looking at stats sheet.

If you started watching him you might understand better the hype and excitement.

Very promising prospect , exciting player . But so far away from being a top d let alone the defecto top d in the league .

Well he's the top d prospect, that's the first part of my claim, and I dare you to find a better one as of now

IMO he's a top 4 prospect in the league with Mitchkov, Stankoven and Wolf, in whatever order you want to rank Them

As far as being the best defenseman in the league, he might get there one Day.
Why could he not?
IMO he could be a slower but shiftier version of Adam Fox

four rookie defenseman have scored more goals then him so there is that while playing less games

The main point of contention is the best d in the league comment . You claimed he’d be the best d in the league in a few years . There was no question . It was a definitive statement. Period . Now you’re walking it back somewhat . Would a slower shiftier Fox even be better than regular Fox ? Let alone the rest of the prime elite d in the league ( Makar , Hughes , Dahlin etc ) . Is it possible , sure anything is possible . Is it remotely likely or reasonable to project such growth ? I’d say no if I were actually putting a wager on such a venture. Great find by Montreal regardless.

The fact that you think Dougie Hamilton is the best defenseman on the Devils tells me all I need to know about your ability to evaluate defenseman.
