Actually let me use a better example to show.

Like MTL, the ducks have 4 very young dman in the lineup, and like MTL, the team has been similarly dogshit this year.

I would like you to go slot by slot and compare these players right now. Do you give the same "bad team" excuse for players on a bad team that you don't cheer for?
Zellweger has been fantastic... feel like if he didnt play that 1 extra game last year hed be in the calder conversation this year(clarke on same boat)

Youre the one having access to advanced stats. Whats the xGF of every defensemen with 22+ minutes. Also, why pick the ducks who, despite sucking, only have -9 goals differentials. Shouldnt you use the sharks?

To be fair anaheims goal differential is only decent because Dostal is god mode right now

All of these stats are public access.

Here's all of em.

I picked the ducks because they, like MTL have 4 young dman they play, and so I thought it was a better comparison. Doesn't make too much of a difference tho, the Ducks have higher "pedigree guys".

If you want you can justify how MTL and SJS are in a virtually identical spot and yet you're convinced every single MTL player is better than his SJS counterpart tho.

Finally got a glimpse of the great Lane Hutson in the Oil-Habs game. All i have to say is it's been a long time since PK was in his prime in Montreal.

Theyre not meaningless but they're not the ultimate truth either. Just like xGF%, whom some consider like the be it end all of all statistics (You're one of them BTW). In the Bedard vs Hughes poll thread someone acted like bedard's rookie 44% vs Hughes 55% was the undeniable proof that Hughes had a better rookie season. Yet that stats doesnt even take account qoc so points and assists are basically just as relevant as that "advanced" stats.

Show me the post that made this argument, I’m genuinely curious if this actually happened.

It should have been tbh.... not sure Hutson needed a main board thread.

You got plenty of young dmen in the league having strong seasons

Clarke has been better than hutson... but doesnt have a mainboard thread
Simon Edvinsson plays on a similarly shit team, with his pairing playing the hardest minutes in hockey, and he's winning those minutes.

No mainboard thread there.

Also that was Hughes 2nd year he was at 55%, not his rookie year.

Im surprised they let Desharnais go. He wouldve been their only guy that hits with Kane and Nurse out. Podkolzin hits but hes not physically intimidating at all.
It wasn't so much the hits, more the puck battles. The guy was dominant in this regard.

1.5K posts and counting in a thread about how a defenseman with 0 goals and -11 is becoming a star. What a website

Yup... Amazingly some people actually watch the sport of hockey, rather than just stat search and spout out hot empty takes.

It's a great game, especially when unique young players like Hutson put on a show every night. Much more fun than pulling up stat sites, but you do you

He’s got a lot of offensive talent… the way habs fans hate zegras should translate to Hutson soon enough
He's actually quite reliable defensively as well.

I think you confuse a large diverse fan base with the LA crowds... Plenty of Habs fans appreciate Zegras, only a small minority "hate" him, and those mostly are irritated by the way Ducks fans grossly overrate what he'd potentially be traded for rather than disliking the player himself.

Like Hutson, I think Zegras would thrive playing in front of a knowledgeable and engaged fan base like Montreal. Kid is a competitor, kinda sad seeing his game lose that excitement edge... Players like that love playing in Montreal, and if Z ever does end up there, he'll likely become a fan favorite quickly, like Hutson.

Nobody mentionned hutson in the xGF debate yet you have to bring him back. You clearly have an agenda.

So many times, Ive seen that statistics tell the complete opposite of what I perceived while watching a game to know its not accurate. Last game against the Oilers, I found Dach terrible while Suzuki had one of his best game of the year. But i clearly don't understand what im watching because Boom! Dach has a 88.7 xGF% and Suzuki only 59.56%. That alone makes me believe that this particular statistics isn't relevant.
this is a thread about hutson. the advanced stat debate was a tangent.

back to topic: what do you think about sammy walker's play in the ahl?
