Seigenthaler goal
I don't know positional hockey. But something doesn't look right here.

Oh you mean the Siegs goal where he kill the 3 on 1, win the puck battle, gives it to Savard who then gives away the puck and put pressure on the puck carrier coming to him while Dvorak completely forget his defensive assignment? Yeah, that'll show the world he's bad!The siegs goal and the jack goal. Out of position and bullied off the puck.
But I'm sure it's just a weird coincidence that Hutson ranks near the bottom in terms of preventing chances against, while luke ranks near the top
Lmao he got bullied off the puck by HaulaOh you mean the Siegs goal where he kill the 3 on 1, win the puck battle, gives it to Savard who then gives away the puck and put pressure on the puck carrier coming to him while Dvorak completely forget his defensive assignment? Also, are we talking about the same Jacky goal where Heineman miss the net by a mile creating a turnover and Struble break dancing on his skates through the NZ and blue line until Jack has enough speed to be all alone in front of Montembeault? Yeah, that'll show everyone how bad Hutson is!
*You've yet to show a single bad play by Hutson or yet again show a good defensive play by Hughes yesterday.
Hutson was the best defenseman yesterday on either team
Out of cusiosity, what are each player against comp% so far this year and their deployment?I was suggesting that having better dmen helps make a teams defense better.
Frankly, I think the excuses from bad teams about their players struggling are often simply that, excuses. I do not give much credit to guys who get significantly worse results, especially when the gap is this big.
We are talking about Luke being currently near the top of the leaderboard in terms of chances against, and Hutson being near the bottom.
At what point does it stop? you could use this across the board to justify every player on a bad team being better than the corresponding player on a good team.
Caufield is right in front of Sieg. you just can't see him.Seigenthaler goal

Like he's a young player who's being asked to play a shit ton of minutes without having the defensive capability to do so. He's being deployed like Erik Karlsson on the Sharks, and asked to go do things offensively.View attachment 927859This was the stat-line last night. Doesn't really look like the best player by any stretch.
How were the advanced stats looking for someone with the info?
LMAO ARE YOU KIDDING ME. Hutson was moving toward NJ net while Jack was skating sideway toward Hutson and as soon as the puck is turned over Hutson has to break and circle back while Jack is already on its way to Montreal's zone.Lmao he got bullied off the puck by Haula
Jack was Hutson's guy. They were literally right beside eachother when the devils breakout started. Hutson just got DUSTED on the backcheck.
There is a lot more than plus minusView attachment 927859This was the stat-line last night. Doesn't really look like the best player by any stretch.

Either you know absolutely nothing about hockey (I wouldn't be surprised) or this was possibly the most pathetic attempt at trolling that I've ever seen in my whole life

Actually Siegs was Dvorak assignment and Gally should have taken whoever is next to Dvorak (I can't see the number). Had the puck been sent to the far right D, Gally needs to put pressure on the puck carrier) right side D, Anderson needs to come back and take Gally's man and Dvorak need to stay between the ears (closer to Siegs than the middle) to cut any play going its way.Caufield is right in front of Sieg. you just can't see him.
(I do get it though, Gally had a good game but he needed to do more then just believe that his teammates would get he puck)
-Edit- after looking at it some more and how the Hab's defended. It looks a lot like how Ruff's Devils would have done it last year.
You’d have to be a goofball to put that one on hutson, but here we areActually Siegs was Dvorak assignment and Gally should have taken whoever is next to Dvorak (I can't see the number). Scoring chances for galore. Scoring chances against galore. Fun hockey.
What are you talking about?
What are you talking about?
Perhaps don't put yourself in that position thenWhat do you mean what I'm talking about? He said Jack beat him off clean. Clearly Hutson had to break and circle back while Jack was skating sideway (from east to west) with momentum already. There's no way any player in the league in Hutson's position can beat Jack Hughes back on the back check on this play.
I can type it slower for you to understand if you prefer.
Sometimes I wonder why I lose so much of my time explaining basic man to man hockey assignments to spreadsheet lovers when they clearly never played or learned system based hockey. Same thing happens all the time with basic body and stick positioning. They don't know what to look for so they don't understand the difference between good/bad positioning and good/bad stick. You’d have to be a goofball to put that one on hutson, but here we are

He had the puck behind the net with quite a bit of time. You’d have to be a goofball to put that one on hutson, but here we are
On the contrary, look at the play once again. That was the right call by Hutson. Not only did he gave Heineman an option for a pass but he's also in the right spot for a rebound - Which Markstrom gave all night long.Lmao. Same spot.
Also, if you are so far down that you can't get back, you are OUT OF POSITION
Perhaps don't put yourself in that position then
1 game isn't enough but 7 whole games settles it. can't say i agree with that eitherBest xGA/60 on the team through 7 games this year = not good defensively?
Yes, that's exactly what I'm talking about. When I said sideways (and I explained it in my last post) I meant from east to west. When you say that Hughes is skating sideways:

Do you mean he's skating sideways as he makes the turn after the shot has been fired? Because he sure as hell is moving straight toward the net before the shot is taken. Then he moves diagonally toward the puck:

Then he turns and leaves Hutson in the dust, as the poster who you claimed "didn't understand hockey" or whatever said. If this is the point where you say that Hutson didn't have a chance to recover, no shit. He had put himself out of position, and then reacted too slowly to recover. He made a bad turn, and Hughes was gone.

So when I asked what you're talking about, I suppose I'm really asking why you're trying to make shit up about a goal we have a replay of.
