Most hated prospect since PK Subban.

Keep doing your thang, Lane.

People talk a lot of shit about the Habs some deserved, some not, but Hutson and Demidov is a really nice base to start a rebuild, if Reinbacher can come back healthy and develop, I think his game could compliment Hutson well. Hutson may not be Hughes, but he could be a rich man's Ghost and be an impact player, we'll see.
Demidov was a great prospect until he was drafted by the Habs. Now he's just an average bum.

Am I doing this right?

Expectation for Demidov is for him to be the best offensive player for Montreal right away. Suzuki/Demidov/random grinder or Slaf hopefully.

I think he’ll be the best offensive player out of the draft, Celebrini is quite the talent but he’s not Demidov imo. I think Demidov and Michkov will be the last Russians that simply dropped because of geographical bs.

Michkov and Demidov could come into the league as top players right away. Like Malkin, Ovechkin and Crosby did back then. They set the bar high for rookie seasons.

Goal are worth 2 points now?
Assisted goals could have been done unassisted?
without a goal there is no assist. fact.
without an assist there can be a goal. fact.

no goal is same. sometimes the goal scorer did most the work. sometimes the passer have done all the work. and sometimes the player who has worked hardest to create a scoring stuation doesn't even get a point.

counting stats not always tell the truth.

There’s a reason certain guys rack up points and some guys don’t, there’s something to it.

The 0-19 in 29 from Hutson is mooth. He better starts scoring some goals. I want to see him score more point then Markov/Subban. Both of them made team russia or canada.

God I hope you are right. If Demidov can produce like Michkov I'll be over the moon with joy.

And.....if Reinbacher can grow into his potential and draft pedigree, it'll take some of the sting of missing out on Michkov

Hutson. He is a future superstar.

Who the hell hated PK Subban lol, I liked him better as a player than an announcer / analyst, Hutson is quite a player see him as a rich man's Ghost, which would be a great asset on any team in the league.

And they are valued more for what reasons exactly?

Because you wrongly think that goals are better than points, I'm the one being obtuses?
i am pretty sure you argue in the opposite direction when it comes to caufield, who scores more goals than assists.

a couple years ago he was playing well on Suzuki's wing, no one said he was going to supplant him as the 1C. He was always assumed to be the future 2C... Having ACL and MCL surgery and missing a full season has obviously slowed him this year.

And assuming youre being sarcastic about Hutson.... have you even watched him this season? at all? or just another Hab hater?
i remember poster saying, 'when he will unseat suzuki as the 1c ...'

you can read this either way. but comments like 'he looks like mario 2.0' are tough to misinterpret. obviously this are individual opinions and we shouldn't genarlize. but you actually did so with 'no one said'. this should give me one generalization for free. ;)

habs fans are deliusional

Hf boards #1 dork,
i assume you are used to lose arguments.

when he uses statistical analysis, the reply is watch the games.
when he uses eye test, you call him a dork.

just accept you are not made for the mainboard with diverse opinions.

i also like slafkovsky a lot and still think he can be a special player. they could use more quality at the center position. if not a player better than suzuki one or two, who are close.

no you don't.

demidov is still a highly regarded prospect and on the devils board we have three guys, who evaluate prospects religiously. they all had demidov second and one or two of them in the same tier with celebrini.

most people don't watch the khl and not even all that watch some games or highlights can evaluate it correctly from qoc perspective. i definitely can't. so i trust those three guys on our board who said, demidov is an absolute wizard with the puck with elite vision. they also said he lacks the elite skating to be ranked on par with celebrini.

I'd really like to see an unironic example of someone saying he looks like Mario 2.0.

Also kind of a weird player to bring up, he looked great to finish the year before last, and starred great last year before having to have his leg reconstructed. Unsurprisingly, he hasn't shown the same maneuverability or willingness to go into traffic. Some of it is probably psychological, some of it physical, but he looks like a shadow of how he was playing before.

To give a former Hab as an example, Pacioretty looked like he could be a genuine power forward before the Chara incident. He found a way to be effective after by being sort of a spot picking sniper, but he looked like a totally different player once he came back. I'm not sure Dach will be able to adapt, he obviously looks terrible this year, but I think he's still just 2 months into coming back and this season is a bit of a write off.

Not sure if you're kidding but you would have been on this board when Subban was on the up and up, and would have seen the kind of things people said about him if you were paying any attention lol

to be honest i don't think so. but won't go any further because of the board politics.

preseason 23/24

but with hindsight we call it ironic again. :thumbu:

4 primary points at 5v5 and his rel xGF% is now similar to Xhekaj and Struble (0.8% vs 0.5%).

Skilled and he will figure it out at the NHL level, but I don't understand the insane hype from viewing or from his stats.

i expect demidov to become a better player than hutson

That's not an example lol, that's just saying something with nothing to back it up
if you expect me to look for those posts i remember about the preseason 23/24 where dach looked so good, you can wait forever. i trust my memory and won't waste my time.

I do not trust your memory since you won't even bring up an example of something you claimed was happening

You know the kid is good when some leaf homer try to dismiss him by spotpicking primary points at 5v5

You can look at goals, play driving, points, watch him play, anything.

The kid is so good he is helping to drive the tank by having the 2nd most ice time on the 5th worst team.

Montreal has a worse point % this year.

He is nowhere near what Montreal fans think he is, but he is a very good prospect.

read enough posts from the largest hockey (given sport) fanbase on the planet and you will read a lot of homerish and wishful thinking posts. Bouboumaster *ahem*.....Toronto (Robertson, Liljegren) and Vancouver fans (Podkolzin, Hoglander) had their own as well.

That said I think its a little unfair to judge Dach after missing a full season with a very significant injury. He may never recover for all we know. Scoring 38P in 58GP in 22-23 was no fluke.
