Hutson is the perfect example of how a club, when drafting during their rebuild, needs to uncover gems from later rounds to corner up for the inevitable misses in round one. Habs miss on Reinbacher but cover that miss, in Spades, with Hutson. This reminds me of the Hawks miss with Barker but how they covered that miss with Duncan Keith.

Habs missed on a player who's only in his d+2 year now? :help:

They allowed 10 less goals than the Pens, that's like 3 games worth of goals, which is "nowhere near". But I too hate when the facts disrupt my narrative.

The Penguins have played one more game than the Canadiens, so it's definitely not "3 games worth of goals" not to mention the Canadiens are allowing nearly 3.6 goals a game, so even if they hadn't played an additional game, it still wouldn't be 3 goals worth of games.

That’s your opinion. History shows that getting guys like Hutson in later rounds to cover for misses with high picks is key to a successful rebuild. Not too sure why you think Hutson isn’t equivalent to a high first?

I don't know why you keep talking about Hutson. My issue with your post is calling Reinbacher a miss, which has nothing to do with Hutson.

Or you just don't understand what the "team with the most goals against in the league" means since you do seem to be confused about it.

lol yes funny

For the habs, that's sometimes just 1 game away lol

It’s a theory. The most successful rebuilds, like the Hawks with their miss of a high first with Barker, are covered by great picks like Duncan Keith. If you don’t see the parallel with Reinbacher and Hutson, that’s fine and dandy.

I don't know if you're acting obtuse on purpose or not. Comparing Reinbacher to the bust Barker was, when he's only played 1 season after his draft year, is absolutely dumb.

You also believe Carlsson and Fantili are the next Kotkaniemi?

Reinbacher is a huge question mark right now while Hutson is already paying dividends. I think the comparison is fair.

You’re making no sense. What exactly do Carlsson and Fantilli have to do with the historical comparison of Barker and Keith to Reinbacher and Hutson?
IMO there is a comparison to be made between the successful rebuild of the Hawks with their miss on Barker coveted by Keith to the Hubs miss on Reinbacher covered by Hutson.
Not too sure why you don’t see this comparison?

Looks like he picked up a point again tonight according to the boxscore, so he has officially passed chelios for the longest club point streak by a rookie dman.

Didn't makar have more?

He had 5 assists in 10 playoff games in 2018-19.
Then 17 assists in 20 games to begin the 2019-20 regular season.

That's 22 assists in his first 30 nhl games.

(He also had 6 goals in that timespan)

I doubt that the statistic counts the playoff games. It is probably counting his first 30 regular season games in his rookie year.

Makar was in the similar list from a few games ago (first 25 games) as one of the names so he must have just missed the list at the 30 game mark. He is right in the mix for sure and depending on how he did in his rookie season between games 30-40 he might show up again on the list at some point.

Hughes combined 5 games at the end of his college + 25 games in his rookie year.
