If he can manage to figure out to be a semi threat from shooting, it will take his game to another level.
He pretty much has to.

Not a 20 goal guy, but he should be able to threaten double digits at least. 0 on the year is not a good look.

What makes Hughes such an elite player is he is relentless about improving his game. He's got that Crosby sort of drive to be better.

Hutson needs to have that sort of drive. You need that sort of toughness to make it as a small offensive D.

Or he could just work on his shot and offensive game and be a pretty great PP QB. Dude should be close to 50 points this year which is insane.

You’re making no sense. What exactly do Carlsson and Fantilli have to do with the historical comparison of Barker and Keith to Reinbacher and Hutson?
IMO there is a comparison to be made between the successful rebuild of the Hawks with their miss on Barker coveted by Keith to the Hubs miss on Reinbacher covered by Hutson.
Not too sure why you don’t see this comparison?
Because there was NO miss on Reinbacher., He will be a solid defenseman if he can stay healthy. Barker was crap. Canadiens duo will be far greater.

Reinbacher is a huge question mark right now while Hutson is already paying dividends. I think the comparison is fair.

Lol.
If you believe Reinbacher is a bust, then you must also believe Fantili and Carlsson are busts like Kotkaniemi or Yakupov. Decent d+1 season in the nhl, followed up by a disappointing 2nd season. Not sure how you can't see the comparison!

Hutson had a better GPG average than Hughes. Makar or Fox in the NCAA. He'll figure it out

I doubt that the statistic counts the playoff games. It is probably counting his first 30 regular season games in his rookie year.

Yeah like Ken Dryden. If you count his 70-71 year regular season and playoffs together it adds up to 26 which would mean that was his rookie season. However post season doesn't count so 71-72 was actually his official rookie season. IIRC he won the Conn Smythe the season prior to winning the Calder.

Don't worry habs fans, all he has to do is become a top 5 skaters/best dman in the league and people will grudingly admit he's not total crap,

They won't admit he's actually good, he will never actually be considered good unless he grows 4 inches, but they might admit he's not total crap.
Or unless he gets traded, then he becomes great!

We know how it works. Subban sucked all the way to a Norris trophy(and even then you will get people saying he was not good defensively)

-19 dang. Reminds me of quin in his first year

Who is -19? What are you talking about?

It is minus 12 and he has been on the ice for 6 empty net goals against (none for) so with a goalie in his net he is a minus 6. He is far from the worst d-man defensively on the team

He also posted a -14 in four games this year. So four terrible games where the Habs get blown out make for a ton of damage, not to mention the empty net goals.
