So many unforced errors by Gallant. It’s bigger then him, but so frustrating.

How is Goodrow out there so much in the 3rd? If accountability were real Goodrow should sit a game. Horrible TO on the first goal and horrible overcommitment leading to a wide open lane on the tying goal. Complete joke Gallant trots this guy out there seemingly every other shift in the 3rd.

How does Kakko again not get an OT shift when he is one of the best possession players NYR have?

How is Blais in the lineup? Can he be sent down on a conditioning assignment? He has no business dressing in an NHL game right now.
The tying goal was a broken play royal road. No way to defend it.

  • On cutting down the lines near the end, “that was exactly what it was. Nothing that they did wrong, I just go with my defensive guys and Goody is one of those guys.”

Goody, one of those guys.
One of those guys lol. Kravtsov is 91st percentile in the NHL defensively, Goodrow is 30th percentile.

I’m not sure those charts or cards are a part of the coaching staff’s advanced stats. Do those cards have any grit or ring stats on it?

In all seriousness this team needs to one, stop blowing leads in the 3rd period to the Devils and two, figure out how to win those games like they did last year.

The game gets faster and faster with more and more high end skill up and down the lineups of teams. We are ill-equipped and outclassed.

Skating and hand speed should be the top priorities and philosophy for scouting and talent from now on. I don't care how much flashy skill you got. When you do it at a standstill, you're roadkill.

Doesn't matter as long as Gallant is the coach. He will want more veterans to play his outdated stereotypical hockey and kill the kids coming in with their modern stuff that he doesn't give a shit about, much like Quinn did with Kakko and Laf. And the new kids will be told to give the puck to "feed me the puck" Panarin and Zib or dump it in from the red line as soon as they get it on their stick because that's the way you play in the big league.

This is not a development league = play dino ass hockey or else.

I don't believe in Krav because of his incredible analytics, I do because of the eye test. But some of his haters are stats nerds so of course I will use it against them.

Except your eye test is telling you what you want it to tell you. You have your entire reputation riding on this guy being a great player. You don't think that biases your eye test?

I didn't pick his name out of a hat originally lol, it was the eye test that made me see the potential in him as a player in the first place. But my eye test says he's playing well, so does most as he gets 3 star votes more often than most players on our team; and the analytics back it up too. He's playing very well after a rough start

Kravtsov played fine today, and there was no reason to bench him and replace him with Goodrow. None.

You can add McDavid into the lineup and he would look slow because our system is slow.
I think it's both, we play a very boring slow style. Everyone hates Quinn but under him many of the same personal looked a lot more up tempo and played with more pace than now IMO.

BUT I do think objectively, if the whole league did a fastest skater competition our team would probably average dead last or near it.

The idea that this pond hockey rangers lineup is somehow playing Tortorella dump and chase hockey is f***ing hilarious.

You all need your eyes checked

Can we start to try and rough up Hughes? Get in this dude’s head after whistles? The Lindgren cross check is what we need more of.

I know this team has the “we’re better than that” mentality but we are not better than him. Personally I’m tired of him dragging his balls all over the ice and us.

I don’t see issues with the D development. The Rangers younger, homegrown D are playing fine and for the most part outplaying Trouba.
It’s the forward development that’s concerning. It’s hard to win games when none of them are scoring. It’s even harder when your stars can’t hit the net when given goals on a platter( which is definitely a the bigger issue)

That said Kakko should have a lot more points. His play is noticeable in the good way. If only you got points for making plays leading to goals and 3rd assists. He’s coming along but like Chytil its a slow burn. Really slow. But not even Chytil is consistent at this point.
Maybe it’s time they move on from the Jed Ortmeyer, Tanner Glass types leading development ? It’s obviously frustrating.

He's playing fine but you'd think he's a superstar reading your posts. And I'm not even referring to the ones you obviously exaggerate for effect.

Jack Hughes is incredible. He looked like shit for 2 years too, however, he was force fed time and his talent prevailed. The Rangers way of doing things hasn't produced a superstar forward since the 70s.

He had a mediocre rookie year but the elite talent was there literally from day one. Year 2 he did everything except produce. The underlying numbers were incredible and the talent was clearly there. Kakko was bad his rookie year. Year 2 the numbers took a massive step forward and he looked better. Didn't look like elite talent but he showed some good talent. Basically status quo for year 3. Laf on the other hand has continually looked like the definition of JAG.

But both guys are leaps and bounds better than Laf. So it's not all development. Laf's just a lemon.

I hate when Devils fans post in our post game threads especially when we lost but this 100% spot on.

It's always like this, whenever Gallant gets flustered he starts to make the most bizarre decisions. We've seen this time and time again. It was tone deaf as well to start Laffy in OT when it's clear he isn't in a great place right now, just weird.
