How are we salty about it lmao, we got a good return in a situation where we had almost no leverage and we don’t have to deal with your terrible trade proposals anymore :thumbu:

Win-win for everyone except Habs fans, who wasted their own time as well as everyone’s sanity for the better part of 2 years, trying to be trolls. Cheers!

Win-Win for everyone except Habs fans is being salty. You're spinning things with belittle narratives. Character is showing

Enjoy your day. You seem happy. The more I comment, the more the belittle ones come out to play and try to spin things.

Habs fans were mostly consistent in what we said all along. What you didn't comprehend well was The Dach++ ask was not about value, it was about us rebuilding and trying to use potential leverage. We were interested if it was a Trouba and Horvat value but at that cost. We told you 100 times that if you can get that from someone else, you should.
All that should have ended once it became apparent there were multiple teams in the mix and the PLD would come with an 8 year extension. That made the trouba and horvat trade returns moot. Completely different scenarios

At that point the lowball offers were uneeded and inflammatory. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if some were outright troll posts.

Huh? Im talking about Draisaitl. Zibanejad isn't a top 10 center

I don't live in Calgary and never have so I have no idea what you are talking about
original conversation was regarding Zib. Drai is a top 5 center in the league who signed a mid 1C deal out of his ELC. Right after signing it he became a 1C. Remember before his current deal he was played more on the Left wing than Center and this was one of the highest AAV for a LEft winger in the league at the time. Obvious steal now.
Yes you did aprox 2 years ago. quoted a snow fall chart and everything. I know you don't live in Calgary but you did make that argument.

With all due respect I do not agree with your opinion and I like 3 guys Kings have traded.

There is still one peace is coming to LA from Winnipeg.

I hope it will be good LD prospect.
Really? 65pt PLD who has such a horrible attitude? Wonder what torts has to say about him

How come some LA fans are saying they would have preferred Byfield over Kupari

Is Kupari that good?
Or Byfield that disappointing?
Byfield is the embodiment of disappointment. 3 goals in 53 games last season. Weak, poor endurance, mediocre hands, bad shot, unimpressive hockey iq. I can go into great depth as to why I’m sure he will be a bust. Yakupov had more going for him than Byfield does.

Any honest Kings fan will tell you that we would prefer Byfield traded over Vilardi.

You have a great team. Oiler fans don’t want to see the kings again, because it could go either way. I just feel like today the moves made from the kings didn’t really make you guys any better. But I’m a big fan of the two guys you traded.
You're not wrong. Kings still dont have a 1C after this and you bring in a guy with a career FO% of 45% to play top 6 center. The team has gaping holes on LD and esp in goal and you bring on another big contract creating inability to address the other 2 needs effectively next season.

I don't see how this is a win for the Kings. Giving up Vilardi and Iafallo means less depth, heart and more money.
Giving up Vilardi, Kupari and Iafallo will force Maclellan to play Kaliev, Grundstom and hopefully Turcotte in more prominent roles.

P.S. PLD he will play anyway.

Why exactly is the contract an issue for Winnipeg? They have 12M in cap space, which is plenty to sign and trade Dubois.

There was many different things said from both sides that were not right. Don't act like every Jet fan was innocent and didn't escalate the situation. I know Habs fans had different things to say at different times.

What I dislike the most is fans twisting previous things and then grouping fan bases into one opinion later. It's stupid.

Lets calm down and re visit the multiple Habs futures offer at a later date. It's the only way to determine if our multiple futures packages were bad or good. Fair? We can also evaluate the guys you got in return later too.

Gaping holes.....looking at Mikey Andersson, Gavrikov...and Bjornfoot.....is my definition of gaping holes different?

While making an area of glaring weakness worse, and adding to what was already a strength.

Vilardi and Iafallo are both better even strength performers while also being solid on the PP. Iafallo is one of the Kings best penalty killers, which was just dreadful last year.

This is a reverse Visnovsky deal, sending heart and soul (with very good production) for a diet "star" player. It doesn't address any of the areas that allowed the Kings to be such an easy out over the past two seasons, which are a lack of strength along the walls and trenches and perseverance to hold leads.

Folks are getting excited about a paper roster but thats just cheap video game logic. This is the addition of one B-level player at the expense of two B-level players, a pick and a kid with potential.

Winnipeg is fleecing the Kings here.

Having not gone through the many pages in this thread, there's no way the Kings are sending all of Vilardi, Iafallo and Kupari to Winnipeg and only getting Dubois and his big contract without something significant going to the Kings as well, right?

As a fan of a divisional rival, this would be wonderful news but almost seems unrealistic like a Jets fan HF fanboy proposal.
