Proposal: LAK - NYR

If Kreider is traded it's going to signal the Rangers throwing in the towel on this season. It will be for futures.

Fiala is a half decade younger and he has term. He’s not a rental. I’m not saying Rangers should be interested in this deal, I wouldn’t be only as I dislike Fiala.

Beyond this I doubt Drury is after futures in any deal. His job is on the hot seat (or at least I’d perceive it should be) Rangers giving up on the season wouldn’t be a sign of a rebuilding team, they would simply retool. That would be my thought.

If Kreider is traded in think its for a prospect center or dman. All of their top prospects closest to NHL action are wings. B prospect and a 2nd is what I'd expect. Upgrade on return if Rangers retain.

The contract is tough for NYR to take right now. especially with the future of their core and defense. He's having a down year and the risk of being burned by that contract may be greater than the reward. Kreider seems to be playing through an Injury right now so I don't think LA wants to do this unless they really want out of that contract.

He turns 34 in a few months.

Turcotte is finally in a spot where things are working. Let's leave him there.

The most practical bet in town is the Kings adding a veteran scoring forward at the deadline, and you know it won't be to flesh out the 4th line.

Losing Fiala and allowing Turcotte to thrive down the lineup is a good thing.

The Kopitar-Kempe line needs a facilitator IMO. Not a shoot first guy.

I think Turcotte is one of those guys who works better with better players.

I'd rather swap out Fiala for players like Garland, Boeser or Bjorkstrand. They can play on the 2nd line while Turcotte stays on the top.

We should say "how soon can we book the flight?"

Kreider would be a terrific fit next to Kopitar and Kempe.

The nice thing about Kreider is you could put him next to any of the 'duos' and it looks good/complete so it's not like he needs a 'perfect fit'

Kreider Kopitar Kempe is nice
Kreider Moore Danault
Kreider Byfield Foegele

He's a player type we don't really have right now outside of Jeannot who should not be sniffing the top six

I disagree, I think Kopitar is having trouble keeping up with the speed of Turcotte. The spacing is off. It helped to feast on the Canucks last night, but Kopitar only has 4 points in his last 10 and that line has had many nights without any real sustained pressure or strong chances. I highly doubt that they are together for the rest of the year.

Yeah, the Kings need a player who can score down low to compliment their grinding, straight line style. Fiala may be the drizzling shits at times, but even at his best his lateral style of play has been a poor fit for the rest of the roster.

Yeah they could really use a lethal PP option, great down low, bigger body, preferably right shot...like a Gabe Vilardi type, wonder where anyone would find one of those!

****ing Faber and Vilardi, man. Would have been so nice if we had someone with just a little patience and discipline in the GM seat instead of a guy who keeps hiding Legos in his shoes.

Habs fans get rightfully mocked for bad proposals but every ranger proposal I come across is basically we'll give you one of the worst contracts in the league for a player way younger and more talented, deal?

He hasn't had a great year but Kreider is one of the worst contracts In the league? Still Pretty much on pace for 30 goals this year. Gonna have around 155-160 goals over the last 4 years. At 6.5 million for 2 more years that's one of the worst contracts in the league? Not even gonna mention 24 playoff goals over the last 3 seasons including a hat-trick in pretty much an elimination game.

Brendan Gallagher and Josh Anderson are Bad contracts.

Kreider has been a 25-50+ goal scorer for the last 7 seasons.

6.5 per for that is a great contract
