Fiala for Kreider
Both could probably use a change of scenery at this stage

Fiala is 5 years younger and signed for longer. Makes sense if the Rangers go for a soft resetIf Kreider is traded it's going to signal the Rangers throwing in the towel on this season. It will be for futures.

If Kreider is traded in think its for a prospect center or dman. All of their top prospects closest to NHL action are wings. B prospect and a 2nd is what I'd expect. Upgrade on return if Rangers retain.Fiala is a half decade younger and he has term. He’s not a rental. I’m not saying Rangers should be interested in this deal, I wouldn’t be only as I dislike Fiala.
Beyond this I doubt Drury is after futures in any deal. His job is on the hot seat (or at least I’d perceive it should be) Rangers giving up on the season wouldn’t be a sign of a rebuilding team, they would simply retool. That would be my thought.
We should say "how soon can we book the flight?"Kings say no
He turns 34 in a few months.Kreider would be a terrific fit next to Kopitar and Kempe.

Turcotte is finally in a spot where things are working. Let's leave him there.
The Kopitar-Kempe line needs a facilitator IMO. Not a shoot first guy.The most practical bet in town is the Kings adding a veteran scoring forward at the deadline, and you know it won't be to flesh out the 4th line.
Losing Fiala and allowing Turcotte to thrive down the lineup is a good thing.
