Speculation: LAK GM Search

Juulsen could be a good pickup for cheap if Gavrikov walks. He hits hard.
Byram-Doughty
Edmundson-Clarke
Anderson-Juulsen
Moverare
If you cant turn Turcotte and Spence into Byram then keep Anderson up with Doughty and let Moverare and Kirsanov rotate on the third pair until one of them takes the spot.

I agree with the following: move Moore, do not resign Gavrikov and Sign Marner.

I prefer to sign Kuzmenko and Jeannot over Boeser.
Kings need playoff performers, Hard to play against and Brock is more of a goal scorer and more consistent and still gives us another right shot . Kuz had a great run here but kinda fell off in playoffs and has history of doing well once he gets to team and then tails of, but I am not opposed to resigning him at as long as not an overpay.
It will be interesting to see what new Gm does and hopefully his hands wont be tied, the way there doing now has found zero success in playoffs, but that's another conversation

what’s the reasoning behind wanting to move Gavrikov? He’s easily the best dman on the Kings. Don’t let bad coaching by Hiller make you think otherwise.

I’m perfectly happy with keeping Danault. I do think shut down centers tend to have lower values around the league, just a feeling though. And if he’s going to be cheap, then I want to keep Danault.

Especially if the Kings transform into 2-1-2 which is what I am hoping for. Full time 2-1-2. We need forechecking back and this counter attack gameplay is just way too risky since it’s entirely built upon putting the ball in the opponents hand and hoping to intercept them. Just seems like way too risky, especially when you factor in momentum.

Amen to this.

Edmundson will probably return to form next season and be a very mediocre #6; Mikey Anderson has never really impressed me either.

Gavrikov is the best two way guy on the team by a lot.

Most want him but he may leave on his own.I imagine the Kings will make a him a good offer. Its his decision.
But if he walks what should the Kings do with the d core?

Assuming the new GM isnt going with a rebuild.. there's not much out there FA - Ekblad and Orlov from what i can see.

You could offersheet Bouchard (an RFA and RH), but will cost two 1sts ++.. maybe they cant even afford him... but the salary and assets required seem like it would be a scary 1st move for the new GM.

Alternate idea: spend that salary on Marner and find some cheaper option via trade for top 4 LD.

Mitch Marner's career average points per game is 1.1

You could expect that to drop to a .8 roughly going from Toronto to LA.

Do you want to spend 13M on someone who'll likely only get you 75 points?
In the past 4 seasons, Marner is the 8th highest scoring player in the NHL. The only names to out produce him are McDavid, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Kucherov, Pastrnak, Panarin, and Rantanen.

He’s a special talent. Kuzmenko isn’t even in the same stratosphere.

Lombardi started off right accumulating Draft picks and Prospects and then trading them off for Vets...when the Kings Won the Cups Lombardi wanted to keep the ride going and let good judgement leave him...Futa leaving was a sign the Kings really shit the bed

If that's the case, you spend ZERO money on forwards, and put 60 million of the cap in D and G....

Also depends on who Gm is and he let's Hiller know style of play is changing and it's no longer 90% defense, but does Luc have balls to bring outside gm with different philosophy and let them implement new style.
If so and system opens up, yes you go after, but all depends on Luc

Dallas is great because they can play any type of game. Robertson and Rantanen are star players. Heiskanen is a stud D and only 25. Hintz is a poor man’s Kopitar.

If you want to play a tough game they have Benn, Marchment, Smith, and the D is huge and mobile.

Oettenger is only 26 - so there core guys are in their prime - Robertson, Heiskansn and Oettenger are alll 25-27.

Wyatt Johnson is gonna be a stud.

They keep plugging in young players when the vets age out.

To think Luc thinks they are on the same level. I really hope Mark Janko is a guy Luc talks to about the Gm on job

From your mouth to his ears, Tio. But nepotism fuels the front office Luc is going with one of his friends or his old GM, Ken

and look what I seen on X right after I posted this

The most important question we need answered, How is Holland's French?

Why waste your time pursuing up and comers who are learning on the job from the hottest front office in the league who seemingly can't miss on scouting drafting and deployment as well as increasing results

when you can have a retread who hasn't accomplished anything since having unlimited funds to win any UFA and a Euro scouting department that was akin to the dynasty canadiens taking all the players they wanted?

It's getting harder & harder to stay connected with & be a Kings fans these days. I should be used to it having suffered since the late 70's. But youth is the time to handle that....plus you knew less back then. Being a well run team pre-BLuc also messed with my brain temporarily. With older age, i'm just not willing to spend my money & time someplace that isn't worthwhile. Point is, i kinda don't give a crap who Luc picks. I'll just wait out his incompetence.
