It's pretty f***ing lame that every time you open this thread someone is moaning about Toaster Strudel. We didn't draft him, this thread isn't about him, get over it.
What a complete nonsense, get off your high horse.

I guess I'm lame for wanting to chat about a Kings' prospect. Sorry about that.
yes like every reply always goes about the subject.

its actually terribly annoying to read that stuff. Than you just skip the paragraph.

Byfield is day to day. Hope you are happy now.

Being able to stay on topic has nothing to do with a "high horse".

Prospect development--especially within the top 5--is tangentially related to Byfield in a very clear way.

Like it or not, Lafreniere and--yes--Stutzle--will always be inextricably linked to Byfield.

No one has gone off script in a large, digressive way here; the discussion was about different leagues and how they may impact prospect readiness.

You may need to get over seeing the name "Tim Stutzle" because it WILL appear in this thread. Edit: probably with the appropriate umlauts because I suck at keyboarding

If people were actually doing this, yeah, we'd revisit the discussion.

If I see clutter like "wah, I wish we drafted Stutzle"--yeah, that's not really Byfield discussion.

But when we're discussing how the top five are doing in their respective leagues--if you don't want to see that, you may need to exit the thread.

Fair enough but you think he is out of place right now ?

Still plenty of hockey needs to played but his play right now basically shows *those people* might be right. He went straight to the NHL and is doing ok.
He looked a bit out of sorts at first but seems to have adjusted quickly. It’s impressive considering the team he is playing on. I only ever said it was a risk and he seems to have mitigated it, but it’s still early days. You could not have hoped for more from him though, not at this stage. IMO.

Back to Q... I’m really looking forward to his debut. Hopefully he plays all year in the AHL and gets a few NHL games later in the year. It could really set him up nicely for next season. I think once he hits the roster full time he will quickly become ‘the guy’... I really do. Setting myself up on this one though...

Cancel anyone who posts "Tim Stutzle". It's the new American way.

Any idea when Byfield will get some NHL ice time? I drafted him in my fantasy league but then quickly realised he wont even start the season with the Kings. Now I just need to swoop in and claim him when he does jump up, just in case he makes a good case for staying.

No idea, but it doesn't look likely at this point.
He is just starting to skate after a minor injury and Kaliyev was only called up for 1 game after a mini Rona outbreak

Probably depends on what happens with the OHL. If the O is shutdown for the year we'll probably let him get the hang of thing all year in the A unless he tears it up. If the O starts back up we might call him up and give him a few NHL games before assigning him back to Sudbury

So likely he wont have a chance to break into the league until next year at the soonest?

For that to happen OHL would be cancelled or very shortened.

Given once OHL opens up (assuming it does) LA would wither have to have him on NHL roster (cannot Taxi) or OHL. I hope he stays in the AHL till OHL opens, than gets called up for 3-4 games and then gets sent to OHL to dominate. Feel bad for the guys getting shuffled around but would love it.

He ain't ready. Pass up

Right now the most important person in the Kings organization is John Wroblewski. Crucial to QB's development and the development of all prospects playing for the Reign. I got to think that if he is able to graduate most of these kids to the big club he will eventually be the successor to TMac when his contract is up.

Quinton Byfield is a “game time decision” for the game tonight.

end of line.
