This is a shot across the bow of the Edmonton Oilers. They better smarten up and look out. Holland better break out the case of Red Bull.

It is close, I think he gets in. Barrasso is not in but the story on him was he was a total jerk to to he media and are holding that against him.

And that is bullshit. To be honest, if Barrasso hasn't made it in then Quick shouldn't either. They are basically identical in wins, losses etc.

Stanley Cups are team awards, imo. While Quick played great in their runs so did Barrasso in the Pens runs. Barrasso won two Vezina trophies which are an individual award, Quick has none.

Quick is not a HOFer IMO.

Osgood didn't get 1/10 the recognition Quick got.
Because he didn't play the traditional straight butterfly style of goaltending (personally IMO this was always nonsense butterfly bias in the hockey world because Osgood's results always spoke for itself + started a trend of hybrids being more normalized in the NHL), and he had a tendency to deliver some ugly save percentages here and there.

Just stating fact of why Barrasso is not in. Not saying i agree with it but that is the story of why he is not there. You treat people like shit it has consequences

I stayed up all night waiting for this trade so I could scoop Korpi for my fantasy team. Hope I just got a top 10 fantasy goalie for free.

Wow they did Quick dirty.

From Playoff bound, sunny LOS ANGELES .... To gritty, dark and depressing OHIO, and the worst team in the league at that.. With no warning.

That f***ing sucks. I wouldn't go. Pulling a Lindross. Straight up disrespect.
On top of it all, I hear that Blake is offering Korpisalo jersey number 32.
(Kidding but I can't do emoji faces)

Iirc quick won the conn smythe with a historic performance behind the 8 seed kings in 2012. A little different than Barrasso with the powerhouse offensive penguins.

I can see the case for Barrasso but I have quick a bit higher. Could just be recency bias on my part.

So, with Quick’s 3.50 GAA and .876 save percentage, you care considerably less about the Kings having a legit run in the wide open west just to be nice nice to your icon who is old and having a horrible year?
You’re not getting it. The kings have no chance at winning the cup this year, with or without this move. It’s been absolutely brutal watching Quick this year and has been it’s own torture and I frankly expect him to loose any game he starts.

This is not about winning games in a season you’re not ready to go all in.

This is about treating a franchise legend, who’s played his entire career and been SO loyal to the franchise, like a piece of trash. It’s a totally unnecessary move. Just staple his ass to the bench for another month and take the first or second round playoff loss in stride and improve over the off season. This signals to everyone in the locker room that nothing is holy.

After the perfection of the Brown retirement ceremony, this is the ugliest thing the franchise has ever done. Quick should have been able to retire with a modicum of dignity as a forever king. If you can’t understand this, there’s nothing more to talk about.

The worst part about Columbus is that it's overrun by homeless people and has terrible smog.

Oh wait that's LA.
Imagine comparing living in Columbus to Los Angeles and having this take. Have fun over there.

Upside is maybe now Quick can afford a house.
Nice edit there. It's an improvement from deflecting a diss of Columbus back at Cleveland.

Imagine sitting at a computer in a crappy apartment and thinking you get value out of living in LA.
I'm not doing any of those things... Literally but enjoy Ohio :laugh::laugh:

Sucks you have that opinion but you must be in a low tax bracket if you can't afford something I suggest going to school to get a higher salary.

Quick getting to collect around 10% more of his last paychecks on the current contract. Not bad.
