This is why players are really pushing for NTC/NMC's.
Good luck signing players without them going forward LA.

Meanwhile, I'm more surprised that Quick didn't have a NTC

Oh the horror for Johnathan. Being garbage and getting paid millions, must be tough. Trades happen in sports right?
He can also refuse to report for the next 6 weeks, forfeit his last $625k, and call it a career.Getting traded after 18 years in the organization and close to retiring. So much class from LA management.
You can understand that? Can you?
Or because he's millionnaire he can't be sad and disapointed?
He can just retire now if it bothers him that much.Getting traded after 18 years in the organization and close to retiring. So much class from LA management.

Trade call happening this morningAll this rumbling without a View attachment 659952is just stupid.
We should wait for the news and a statement from the front office before we react. As a huge fan of the Kings for over 30+ years, let me suppress my rage and try and tell you calmly that you don’t know understand the the nuances of how devastating this is emotionally to the fan base and the leaders in that locker room. Trust me, listen to the fans of this team when we tell you that this is the most despicable treatment of a team legend that is on our Mt Rushmore of All Time Kings.
LA did Quick dirty.
Yeah, and there will also be a significant portion of the team that know this is the most competitive league in the world and want to win. They understand and embrace that this is the NHL not daycare for babies.Yes, hockey is a business, but a proper business manager also manages people and expectations. Getting your entire staff angry is not great for moral and usually isn't a good managerial tactic. A good manager would have talked with Quick and other team leaders before the trade to get some buy-in from everyone, and the fact that there is talk players were really upset on the flight back home after hearing the news tells me this didn't happen.

They could have also informed him on their intention and make him leave on his own term instead of trading him at midnight after a game.He can also refuse to report for the next 6 weeks, forfeit his last $625k, and call it a career.
Exactly, sucks but hockey is a businessI mean... It sucks. But it's also a great trade for LA
Based on rumors around Gavrikov this price seems really low for both him and korpi.
So, with Quick’s 3.50 GAA and .876 save percentage, you care considerably less about the Kings having a legit run in the wide open west just to be nice nice to your icon who is old and having a horrible year?As a huge fan of the Kings for over 30+ years, let me suppress my rage and try and tell you calmly that you don’t know understand the the nuances of how devastating this is emotionally to the fan base and the leaders in that locker room. Agreed. I know Gavrikov's play has been polarizing this year but on a better team I expect him to thrive. He's absolutely a rock solid second pair guy. And Korpi has been legitimately good this year - although goalies are fickle and he hasn't exactly been consistent in his career.Based on rumors around Gavrikov this price seems really low for both him and korpi.
