Apparently this is your first year reading Kings fans complaining about Kopitar "disappearing" during December/January, and use his lack of goals as evidence of his disappearing act?

Gold star to Brad Doty. I was getting worried that I was losing my sarcastic touch.

I thought it was but there are actually ones here that I think believe that way.

Maybe I'm losing mine. I would never put an upside down question mark in a serious post.

I admit, I have the worst sarcasm detector. You trolled my trolljob. I salute you!

I thought it was but there are actually ones here that I think believe that way.

Unfortunately, there are some people who have argued that, which is why I took my shots in at an ample opportunity :)

I am sure you know that it is ridiculous to suggest that Kopitar hasn't slumped severely in Dec/Jan in the past.

Glad to see he is having a good December though.

Not that I don't feel the same, but didn't someone post his stats by month showing this to be false? I'm thinking he slumped one or two years but steady over his career.

I don't think it occurs at the exact same point every season, but he usually has 15-20 games in a row where he barely scores any goals.

It's fine. Kopitar is going to get his money, and it will impact the Kings' salary cap in a negative way as he will be severely overpaid, especially in the waning years of the contract. Dean's best hope will be another work stoppage that allows him an avenue to buy out any bad deals he has on the books.

Pretty good game, Vancouver is not a good team.

Getting Gabo away from Kopitar is the best thing right now. May even need Gabo off Kopitar's line for the rest of the season.

I have been critical of Gabo, I don't think he has been good or even average all season.

Gaborik only played 13 mins last night, and only .15 of it on the PP. That's against a bad team, that can't handle the Kings.

Also this is why it was important for Sutter to change the lines, and get Toffoli scoring again.

Especially so with Carter injured.

Weal and Mersch continue to be underwhelming.

Most teams aren't the Oakland A's. The smartest thing might be to trade Kopitar for the best cheap players you can get before you have to pay him huge amount of money mostly during his 30's, but I would say the vast majority of GM's aren't going to do that. For better or worse. Even in a cap world. Especially so if that player has been instrumental in multiple championships.

:amazed: What happened, we didn't blow a lead.

Glad to see Toffoli scoring again. He seems to have a preference for Canadian teams in terms of hat tricks.
