Yeah, I mean, what's there to discuss? And I don't mean that negatively, I'm literally looking for ways to extend the happy thoughts :)

How about "what could we bottle up from that game and keep doing against stronger opponents?" I really like the idea of the Forbort/McBain pairing and I'm eager to see how it plays out against a better and/or meaner opponent.

Like I said earlier, the results just matched the effort and execution. One of the interesting quotes Gann picked up from Sutter regarding Brown was playing a complete game, whether or not he's scoring. The Kings have a certain integrity, meaning they are sticking to their identity whether it's successful or not.

So, honestly, the Kings just need to keep doing what they HAVE been doing. The people whining about the scoring slumps about some players need to realize they are going to maintain their complete game.

The biggest quality to bottle up from this is maintaining trust in the system and the teammates.

Although I do think the Pearson - Kopitar - Lewis line was an exceptional idea by Sutter. They complement him well.

Forborts best game yet. Starting to get some pk time. drew 22 58 mins nice to see him get some time off. Everyone over 10 mins nice to see
Does not say a lot, happens with a 4-1 stand. 4th line was on the ice a lot in the 3rd. Now if it was a close game, than its different...

Not because of his assist but I thought Forbort and his stick were a nice pairing. He was aggressive with it.

I did not like the whining in the GDT before the 1-1 while the Kings massively outplayed the Panthers.

Carter has developed into such a great player. He's always been good, and very much underrated back in his Philadelphia days, but now I feel like he's one of the best centers in the NHL.

Yup, completely overlooked and underrated. There was even a (positive!) main board thread about guys whose careers are bouncing back/have been resurrected and the first name mentioned was Carter. He was never dead! He's just been improving this whole time, which is amazing.

Carter is an effortless skater. He can score from in close, or from further out. He's a threat to score from anywhere, so he opens up a passing lane or two.

Hopefully he can keep it going as long as possible, because he's still signed forever.

I disagree it helps gives our better players a bit of a rest. It also gives rookies like forbort shore and aa some ice time to show what they can do. This is needed to give them some more experience in nhl situations without it costing us games.

Lol @ you not liking the whining as that is a part of us Kings fans dna. If we aren't whining we aren't posting as this pgt shows.

Don't disagree with anything you're saying really, but the better teams won't give us many opportunities for many lateral plays, and our system, unfortunately, actively discourages it in many cases (as throwing the puck in front from behind the net and centering passes are sure turnovers if not SOG). The only players you see really being 'risky' with the cross passes are those that haven't been brainwashed by our system yet ;)

Better teams will be taking away those passes down low no doubt, but from the defense I'd like to see a lot more move the puck and getting the shot off quickly if not a one timer. Blasting from point into someones shin pads can be a risky play as well. This would require the passes to be on target.

The system does discourage it. NHL teams are very good at stopping the first shot and clearing the puck if it's coming from straight on. It's good to shoot, but the Kings only have 2-3 players that can beat a goalie like that on a regular basis. I have a feeling the "brainwashing" is a big part as to why Brown isn't scoring any more.

So, honestly, the Kings just need to keep doing what they HAVE been doing. The people whining about the scoring slumps about some players need to realize they are going to maintain their complete game.

My problem isn't with Brown's scoring slump. It's with him leading the team in shots. Those shots are taking away opportunists for others to shoot, who are shooting at a higher %. Brown needs to watch some tape and look at his game to figure out why he's not getting higher quality shots. Then fix it!

You disagree with what exactly ?

This is exactly what I mean.

Whining is okay. I think its a bit silly to complain while the Panthers were outclassed in every facet of the game.

My favorite player since he arrived. The haters are already waiting for him to slump and to slaughter his long term contract.

It looks like Carter doesnt give them a chance. Unfortunately Gaborik failed the test (so far).

I don't know if it's about DNA as much as it is the context of where the Kings are. The Cups are still fresh. The core of the team that won the Cups is still here. We're all just waiting for the playoffs, and we're assuming they make them this time. No disrespect to the Panthers, but a win against Florida isn't the same as a win against the Ducks, Sharks, etc. Posting on the internet is based on emotion. "Boo" is far easier to get riled up over than "Yay", so, if you win a standard game, there will be more complaints about not complaining than praise for the team that did what they should do when they play the way they can.

The high of a win isn't as high as it used to be with this current version of the Kings. There has to be more on the line now to get a "hell *** yeah" for a win.

I have a feeling the "brainwashing" is a big part as to why Brown isn't scoring any more.

It took until the start of the 2013 playoffs for the brainwashing to kick in for Brown? Did the brainwashing finally register for Kopitar after Game 7 against Anaheim? This season for Gaborik? When will Carter and Toffoli succumb to the evil?

My problem isn't with Brown's scoring slump. It's with him leading the team in shots. Those shots are taking away opportunists for others to shoot, who are shooting at a higher %. Brown needs to watch some tape and look at his game to figure out why he's not getting higher quality shots. Then fix it!

Who is Brown taking shots away from? There are 5 guys shooting above 10% so far this year. Toffoli, Carter, and Lucic are 3 of them. Kopitar is 2nd on the team, but the team is lucky if he gets 2 shots per game over the last 100 games or so, and that's all Kopitar. And then Andreoff rounds out the 5.

I disagree with the tone that getting players more mins isn't helpful :)

I disagree on the fact that we outclassed the panthers in every facet of the game at the time. We were losing and that's the biggest facet of the game there can be.

.

I've been posting here a while and the cup don't make any difference in the average king poster We love to complain about anything as a group. I think its not a bad thing just something people have to realize We all like to fix things more then acknowledge things going well it seems. We complained before the cup and will continue to complain about things after the cup Just a fact our fan base does.

I cant recall I said anything like that.

That's what we call ''scoreboard journalism''. We werent losing, we were down 0-1.

If you outclass your opponent (like yesterday) in 82 regular season games, you might lose some but will eventually win the President trophee. If you do the same in the PO, you win the Cup.

I think being down 0 1 is losing what the hell do you think it means. This showed your mistaken that we outclass them everywhere. That is all i was pointing out. This is why you got the "whining " as you called it. People were frustrated at losing despite outplaying them. Its perfectly normal to me to see that sorta posting.

Who said what is normal and what isnt ? I said I did not like it regarding what I was watching.

You make a habit of this.

Pissing against the church after a wild night is also normal, doesnt mean I like it.

i make a habit of what exactly ? I state my opinion of what i see If you don't like i suggest you either stop quoting me or put me on ignore.

Gaborik is very streaky, just wait

I remember when we first got him, there were a lot of people saying "he only scores in blowouts" , "he floats and takes nights off", yadayadayada. Carts has gone from a sniper to a complete two-way center/sniper. I dont know where the Kings would be without him

wanted to shout out kudos to bandit for always thinking up cool titles for the postgame threads.
