They were 65% tonight
Can only fault the lack of finish that prevented what should have been an easy regulation win. Markstrom was the difference. But they found a way.
Two OT games
Two gift turnovers
But also
2 goals off those gifts.
How bad would we be feeling if the Kings hadn't scored Saturday or today off those gifts
Not enough people are giving credit to Markstrom. You can minimize the shots/finish all you want, he had a lot of good saves and looks and a bit of luck. I would have been mad if we lost, but it certainly wasn't for lack of effort or rolling over and dying.
He had a hell of a game. The guy is ****ing huge. I guessed 6'6" and that's what he is, but Wiki has him at 196 and I would add at least 30 pounds to that.
Fianceé had the line of the evening: The bobble-head can't be Drew Doughty: the bobble-head is not missing any teeth.
Too bad Ron had to miss all the happy talk in here tonight.
If lewis could finish he wouldn't be in a Kings sweater... We couldn't afford him. We must just accept him as the perpetual tease that he is and be glad for all that he does bring.
Are we buying on this?
FWIW, despite his -8, Shore is winning 53.5% of his faceoffs, good for 36th in the league (of those who have taken 100 or more faceoffs), and is literally the league leader in CF%, at 63.9%. and that's mostly because his CA60 is flat out elite as well--36.0, first in the league provided you don't count Pateryn from MTL, and you shouldn't', because he's hardly played. That's shot suppression. Not bad. relative to the team-- -15.45.
And that's with production slugs, as Ron noted. So they're certainly a 'role' line, the real problem is that's our third, and our fourth is running around being ****** right now.

Shore is a rookie. His scoring will pickup. Also, remember that Doughty goal almost went off his badonkadonk last night.Shore has been as advertised on the 200ft game, that has always been his strength.
But at the NHL level, you have to bring some form of production, at some point. Especially as a main stay at third line center.
Doughty on shore: "He's an AHL tweener but we can't afford a better option because Dustin Brown's contract sucks."
What does anyone expect him to say about a teammate?
