Our turn to win the puck-luck lottery! :handclap:

Why play all 3 periods when playing 2 is enough?

Doughty has the same amount of goals as Kopi has assists. Too bad Doughty scores as much as he's used to.

For all the games we deserved a better fate and didn't get it, I'll take the reverse tonight.

Credit to the Isles for it, but that was the biggest fight a team put up against us outside the dumpster fire that was the first three games. They took it to us in stretches and in the third, and we got jumpy and were our own worst enemies.

Worst game I've seen Doughty play defensively, bar none, in the last few years. McNabb certainly didn't help him there though. At least he scored to make up for it, now I understand why karlsson gets the norris :P

Didn't get production out of them yet but Pearson looks very natural with Kopitar, actually plays a lot like him now that I see them together...I get the feeling that once Gabby pops a goal in he'll be good, LOTS of effort out of him tonight, between that backcheck, getting in on the boards, etc...he's not sulking and I like that.

Brownie, jesus. Bring that every night. Bulling through three guys to get in on the forecheck and recklessly throw himself at the boards, d, and puck...vintage.

We play a streaky game. At times we dominate, and then other times not so much. When the play picked up every line looked strong...except Gaborik. Not sure what's going on with him. But we got the W on a weird goal.

Kings have dominated games and lost, will take 3 or 4 Isles shots off the post and win a game we probably should not have won.

Enroth 2 goals given up in 3 games, he is very calm in net, glad we got him.

I'm not trying to pick on you, as others have alluded to it...

But can't we just accept when two good teams fight it out, it's impossible to dominate for a full 60 minutes?

That was a good game. The scoreboard matched how close and hard it was fought. I'm not sure why it's considered streaky or people seem bothered when the opposition pushes back and the Kings don't dominate for the full 60.

Doughty definitely gambles more against these eastern teams. not sure whether it's cause he wants to show a bit more flare for those east coast writers, or because if he gets caught by a division rival, he never hears the end of it (ala Couture scoring on the missed hip check a couple years back) :sarcasm:

quoting myself from the tail end of the GDT.

It's strange seeing a couple of ex-Leafs who've settled into really effective roles for new, more competitive teams. Kulemin and Grabovski weren't amazing tonight, but if you'd have asked me a couple years ago, I wouldn't have believed they'd still be in the league, let alone playing surprisingly scrappy hockey for a competitive team.

We aren't even going to fill up a page, are we??

Stupid wins

The GDT was pretty light as well. It wasn't a well execute win but after the way they dominated Arizona and floundered away, I'll take these grinding wins.

I'll also gladly take more ugly goals if some guys like Gaborik developed a backbone to get there.

The Muzzin-Martinez pairing continues to be the most dependable pairing, and Enroth may be one of the best UFA signings during Lombardi's tenure.

He's someone who also needs to be retained for at least two more years. Give Quick a lighter workload, because I do believe Enroth is a goalie the team can trust to start 25 games.

I meant more that our own play was streaky, even when we weren't being pressured. The Isles played a strong game for sure, and they pushed hard. I'm still looking for more consistency and less hesitation. Maybe that will come as the season goes along.

CREDIT to muzzin who was, as foxy put it, "a beast" tonight.

He had a regrettable forgettable first 3 games but has come on ever since.
I would argue that Muzz has been the most consistent solid D-man on both ends
of the ice.

the lewis-brown-shore line is a good shutdown-minute-eating line but good god
that's 3 guys with terrible hands...

Andreoff is starting to come around to. Another 5 on 3 kill.. coulda sworn
bob millers jinx was in full effect when he mention that the kings are perfect killing 2 men down.
