Carter and Kopitar have always hovered around the middle of the pack when it comes to FO pct. Stoll for Shore will really hurt that stat in the long run.

Shore is an upgrade over Stoll when it comes to faceoffs.

Shore was also our best faceoff man last year.

Yeah, was gonna day didn't shore have like INSANE face off stats at least a few times last year?I remember him going like 9/10 at one point in one fame and almost always being well above 50% and often being decently above like 60%?

I didn't see much else from him last year but was a faceoff machine iirc.

Shore was the one that had the offensive zone penalty that got scored on and noone is saying anything We defended the other penalties and they all your complaining about and they only played 7 mins or so Please shores penalty started that mess lay blame there people

Didn't get to see the game as I was driving out of town through the night. Sounds like we played a good 40 min and OT. Would like to know what happened in the third there. Did we stop trying? Did Min adjust?

And Nolan almost cost us the game with an offensive zone penalty. I don't understand your point here? Are you seriously trying to argue that Andy and Nolan are better players than Shore?

Im just not getting your witch hunt against Shore.

shore sometimes takes bad penalties. he got one in the first game vs sharks too. and i think they might've scored on us then. he made up for it in that game by having the only goal on a tip-in.

last night he took a bad penalty and was bad in the face-off zone. i don't think it's a witchhunt just to mention he had a poor game.

he was one of the few people on the ice this morning:

Very light Kings practice this morning: only Pearson, Shore, Clifford, Andreoff, Nolan, Weal, Greene, Forbort, Enroth.

EDIT: shore was 30% on face offs last night, 36% vs canucks, 73% vs coyotes and 50% vs sharks. so he has had 2 bad games in a row in face-off circle.

my witch hunt as you call it is it was him that they got the tying goal on his penalty and no one is saying anything against him He was 30 % on the fo % Played 3 more mins in the game and looked awful. Yet no one is saying anything against him. This fan base has continual bias against the 4th line yet say nothing of a 3rd line center that has a crap game. 4 th line had mistakes sure but they don't get credit when they have good games. I am trying to get the blame to the right people and shore imo played worse and cost us more then the 4th line imo.

Total domination for 40 minutes.

Then they decide to take their foot off the gas in the third and almost paid for it.

Two bonehead penalties by the fourth line in the third, and one still has to wonder why Sutter has them out their in the third so much. A real frustration for me, in particular.

Great overtime. 3 on 3 is a winning proposition for the NHL.

P.S. There were far too many MIN fans in the arena tonight. I was totally taken by surprised by the loud cheer that went up when they scored. Goddammit people go to the games for Chrissake. **** me.

I would if I could

ty for this post and i agree with most of it except Shore scored the goal first and then took the penalty so to me he negated his goal with the penalty

^ that's true. the goal was in the first few minutes of the game.

the third line has been kind of ineffectual. when brown played on it they got things done (shores goal was a tip on brown's shot i believe) but without brown they've not done much. the top 2 lines were money last night. as they should be. but you'd expect more out of shore and pearson. i know pearson kept the puck on side in that one late play but he also whiffed on a puck that was right there in front of a wide open net. pearson definitely had a better game than shore though. but carter/toff/looch were the line of the night i thought, even though kopi got the overtime goal.

Carter had his speed back and wanted the puck all night. That line was really good.

Gaborik is killing the top line. He's been terrible.

Shore still hasn't even played a full NHL season yet and has been one of our better players to start this year. Andy doesn't look like he has improved at all since last year and contributes nothing, while Nolan has regressed every year since 2012. So yeah I'm gonna start getting tired of watching these guys provide nothing positive to the team while taking bad penalties almost every game.

And I'm pretty sure a lot of us give the 4th line credit when they have a good game, I know there have been times where they have played better than the top 6.

So yeah Shore might have had a bad game last night, but the 4th line was just as bad and are bad on a consistent basis.

I agree when brown was there that line was pretty good but last night they were a hot mess Pearson had a better game then lewis and shore but overall it needs to get better . I was more nervous when they were on then the 4th line.

and Andy has played more then shore bs last i looked it was 21 games ( 3 this year) andy vs shore 38 4 this year. So lets get off the shore hasn't played and making it sound like andy has right now because it ain't true. Also take a look at avg mins a game and it will tell you Shore gets more mins. Shore made one play the tip in goal thats it thats all Hes been on the ice for more goals against . He has not been one of the better players especially last couple of games.

I disagree with your regress line He hits and for checks and contributes in other ways in his limited time on ice. Your expecting to much from him and are using him as a scapegoat.

We have one of if not the best 4th lines in the nhl I think expecting them to score is where your mistaken They contribute by being physical and wearing down opponents not to score goals.

Every line has bad games and for you and other to continually say the 4th line sucks is wrong. Especially when u don't call out other lines. This is wear i have issues with our fans. There are a lot of fans in here that do nothing but point out when they have bad games and not say anything when they play well. The 4th line plays under 10 mins a game I don't see why people think we have issues with them when they play maybe a 1/6th of the game Bigger mins players is wear people should be concerned with shore plays more and should be more productive then he has been If anything shore out weal in

I think both Nolan and Shore are good players. They do their jobs out there, and they're not a liability. The only issue I have is with Andreoff. Technically, I don't have an issue with him, but simply the fact that he's starting ahead of Weal. Weal centering a line with Clifford and Nolan could pose some offensive threat, and thus produce some scoring. I don't see that happening with AA as the center.

aa is a 3rd /4th line player maybe Weal is top 6 to be effective at worst 3rd c Playing him with clifford and nolan is a setting him up to fail In order to be effective Weal needs 3rd line mins at a min (12- 14 mins to be effective) He won't get that with Clifford and Nolan AA is a better 4th c then weal Hes got more toughness which is needed out of a 4 c

Welp, last page doesn't sound much different than if last night were a loss, so at least we're consistent around here.

Our first four opponents: SJ 4-0-0, Arizona 3-1-0 (with a loss to Minny), Van 3-1-1, Minnesota 3-0-1...combined: 13-2-2 with a +27 goal differential. I'm just happy we got a win last night, we've been trucking through early-season murderer's row while getting our shit together. Last night looked like a step in the right direction, I mean I only got bits and pieces of footage, but it looked like we were finally competent at stringing passes together and getting in on the forecheck. Progress.

I think you tend to compartmentalize players too often. It's very simple. Is Weal a better playmaking center than Andreoff? If so, let's see how he does, even as a 4C. Let's keep in mind, Clifford and Nolan aren't Ivanans and Zeiler. The former can actually play hockey.

Wasn't impressed with AA during the pre season or regular either, still trying to figure out why he is taking up space.

pearson & kopitar, please test this more. it was mentioned here as an idea several times in last days. yesterday in ot it worked to perfection. just a temporary top 6 solution of course, 2nd line should stay untouched long-term.

ps: wake up marian, your turn, show something.

I agree clifford and nolan aren't ivanans and Zeiler however i think Weal would be better off with pearson and lewis. I would think you can see that weal is a offensive player and out 4th line is supposed to be more of a physical force. With andy out there clifford doesn't have to be the fighter and with his concussion issues i don't want to see him fight Aa can Shore as our 4th center at least would have the size to play more physical then Weal. Shore did a great job with clifford and nolan when he played there last year Not sure why it has been split up. to be honest. However i like andy there as well better fits then Weal who needs betters linemate to be effective to me.
