"I know where we can get donuts south of University."

"Great," I said. "I'm not going, but let's just call it a King's win tradition nonetheless. "

having that line out there with less than 3 minutes to go almost cost us.

Nope. Solid game by that group, and they don't get better if they don't play in tight situations all season long. This game is a process, from the draft all the way to the GM finding a way to drop a drug addict while preserving the cap.

Just got back. Was it just me or did Ehrhoff pass it to the Wild in our zone twice?

Also, the arena scoreboard read 999-1 after the Wild scored for a few minutes. Then it went to 998-1 before they finally corrected it. lol

Total domination for 40 minutes.

Then they decide to take their foot off the gas in the third and almost paid for it.

Two bonehead penalties by the fourth line in the third, and one still has to wonder why Sutter has them out their in the third so much. A real frustration for me, in particular.

Great overtime. 3 on 3 is a winning proposition for the NHL.

P.S. There were far too many MIN fans in the arena tonight. I was totally taken by surprised by the loud cheer that went up when they scored. Goddammit people go to the games for Chrissake. **** me.

The scoreboard software has been pretty **** ty the first four games. Game 2 it was off all night on SOG and everything else. I had to check the CBS Sports app all night against Arizona just to get the proper stats.

P.S. Kuemper had a very un-Kuemper-like game. Kings should have had 7 or 8 tonight.

But yeah, good game. So glad to see Kopitar get that OT winner. Also nice to see Lucic contribute on the first goal.

could be better

-Los Angeles won 29-of-60 faceoffs (48%). Among regular performers, Anze Kopitar won 14-of-23, Andy Andreoff won 1-of-3, Nick Shore won 3-of-10, and Jeff Carter won 11-of-24.

Carter and Kopitar have always hovered around the middle of the pack when it comes to FO pct. Stoll for Shore will really hurt that stat in the long run.

Wasn't Shore really dominant in Manchester at the dot? Obviously AHL and NHL are very different, but I'd imagine he'd get much better than 30%.

Shore won't be 3-10 every single night, First game of the season he was something like 8-9.

Shore will be around 50-55 % when the season ends, and if he manages to stay up on the big club.

Good game for the Kings, they looked sharper. Forbort looked good, Muzzin played better (had one goof that almost cost a goal). Kopitar too me still looks like preseason form, Doughty too.

Quick was also better, much better all around. Hope for more of the same next game.

Bandit, you have been doing a wonderful job on these thread titles. Keep it up.

Nice to get the win, the team worked hard for it for most of the game. Would have been sad to see them lose after putting in their most solid effort of the season and have some bad bounces cost them some goals.

Nice to get a win... needed some luck.

-Kings need to finish their chances during the game and get more then 1 goal because of all the inexperience and Sutter doing things like throwing the 4th line out with 2 mins to go.

-Brown, Skating great, working hard, and has turned into Lewis. Being in shape and trying hard doesn't seem to be the problem.

-Muzzin, sweet pass to the other team about mid way through the 3rd for a great chance against. He's a veteran on the team now and needs to be better.

-Shore, he's going to need time to get better, unfortunately the Kings aren't really playing on a level to make up for mistakes at this point.

-Kopitar, Pearson makes a play, waits to not go off sides, gets the puck in, takes 2 steps draws a second defender to him, then dishes the puck off to Kopitar. Kopitar is now in the slot with the puck without multiple defenders on him. This is what I mean when I say if you want more out of Kopitar get him better line mates. Put him with guys that know how to set plays up for the rest of their lines. This will lead to Kopitar getting higher % shots.

Edit: With all the pucks missing the net, it may be time to make sure some of the players don't need glasses.

Nope. His offensive IQ (while not great) is still miles and miles ahead of Lewis'. He has not had much puck luck so far. He'll go an a streak of scoring a bit like 5 goals in 6/7 games and people will proclaim he's back then. But he looks back now, just the luck isn't there right now. He's always been a streaky scorer, but most players are in the NHL.
