He's always got the conditioning right, even Werenski confirmed that. But I'm interested to see if he trains on the ice in this one. The coach specializes in summer sports, especially the NFL. Can't help him with skating drills, shooting, etc.
I think this particular place (alkeme performance) is specific to athletes recovering from or trying to avoid injuries, strengthening any weaknesses.
I doubt it replaces any of his usual training, just additional to it. As far as I know he has always previously had training regime in Finland except last off season (spent in Columbus trsining and playing off season hockey tournament) and this one, where he has done a lot of extracurricular activities in Florida for months while most of hockey world is just chilling for a bit as they should.
I'm not concerned of his shooting, ever. He's the best I've seen and even the small sample of lsst preseason and some games between injuries, that skill is there. He didn't get it by accident, he's not losing it at 26. It's a skill he trained so obsessively that he reached the highest level. Barkov once said Laine took 200 extra shots after each practice after everyone else left . That determination is why he has that skill. And also why he is an elite player when healthy. Training and adapting, that's what it takes at the top.
You were absolutely right in your assessment earlier that the chances aren't really there (highlighted by using him on RD positionin PP, neutralizing oneT). He doesn't get to shoot unobstructed as much because that's the main focus of any opponent when he's out there. Don't let him shoot without harassment after blue line.
When the rest of the line can draw the attention away, those shots open up. If he wasn't the main puck carrier, he would get more shots and when he gets more shots, good things happen.
