I feel like Lafreniere is getting discredited way to quickly sure he hasn't lived up to the Eichel/Matthews/Kane/Tavares/Stamkos tiers of 1st overall talents but I think its safe to say he is likely going to be a 70-90 pt winger for many years in the league kid just turned 20 like two months ago people need to chill.

From what I have seen of Wright he also isn't going to be one of those 1st overalls thats gonna come in a light up the league he is likely gonna be 20/20 player for his first couple of seasons.

I think Laf will get better and he's being overly criticized based on the high expectations, but what makes you say it's, "safe to say he'll likely be a 70-90 point winger?" That would put him in the upper echelon of players in the league. He's still young and has lots of time to break out, but I feel like it's hardly a lock based on what he's shown so far.

They'd take Wright but wonder if Habs get like 3-5OV if either team would do it then
We still take the pick with several highly rated Centers and Dmen available. A winger isn't a core piece I'd want to build around. You trade for one, once you're set on a core, our current core is depleted.

Ship on Lafreniere has sailed a bit. I wouldn’t give up our top 3 pick for him at this point. Rather take my chances with a younger guy who would be cost controlled for 2 more years than Lafreniere and that hasn’t plateau in the past year

If the Habs gets the 1st ov. draft, do you offer or accept this proposal.

Alexis Lafrenière for Shane Wright

Whos adding?

Even if they were exactly equal talent, C is always more valuable than Wing. That said, I think the hype around him is higher than Laf. Exceptional rating at 15 allowed him into the OHL, some are saying "generational talent" already. I am a Habs fan, but ive been waiting for a franchise C in Mtl my whole life. Wanted Laf, but not for Wright; NY adds IMO
