I forgot the league changed to only having two teams, the Rangers and Habs. It makes trades really easy as teams can't shop around for a better buyer.

If Habs want him I going to guess it would be something like.

Beck
For
Lafreniere

OR

Mysak+2023 2nd
For
Lafreniere

of course some fans on both sides wouldn't like the deal. Ranger fans cause they still believe his greatness has yet to come and he's worth a lot more and Habs fans thinking that the price is too high.
You realize there is a significant difference in value there. Beck is >>> than Mysak and a 2nd. Habs would do the 2nd trade. No take backs. They would not trade Beck at all.

That is kinda cheap for Lafrenière.

Montreal could a have a piece that the Rangers really want, making the need to get value a bit moot.

However, for pieces that the Rangers could specifically want and that are not necessarily available elsewhere at the same conditions, I don't QUITE see it. The Habs player fitting this "possible" bill the best is probably Kaiden Guhle (D+3 D-Men with size on the first year of their ELC playing very tough minutes and being mostly okay doing it are VERY rare), but the it means the Habs have to replace Guhle for their short, middle and long terms plans.
not this again. Bergevin is gone; habs aren't moving Guhle under ANY circumstances. none.
this won't be sergachev / drouin again

Wouldn't do it either. Was just naming some player that the Rangers could possibly specifically want. Guhle is also well ahead of Sergachev when traded and already a part of the Top-2, so that's totally not happening.

the next draft is very deep with quality forwards and the Habs 2nd will be an early one too.

Mysak also seems like a very Ranger type of player. I guess I should have added a + but I couldn' think of what would be the right fit.

Habs either have high end prospects or a buch of meh, no middling ones. Its Hard to find a prospect that would thread the needle.

-Quick edit

Also the Rangers are pretty good Defence wise so I'd think any player would have to be a forward.

we agree. Hughes hangs up the phone. Apparently hughes wouldn't include Guhle in the PLD trade talks either

Habs would probably move a guy like Roy or Farrell + 2nd, maybe Mesar (I'll duck out now lol)
but I don't think Lafreniere is needed anymore. They drafted slafkovsky to play that role; caufield has become a game-breaker -
the two positions of need are top 2 C and a PMD.
no more need for wingers.
PLD is hughes target, imo

The 2nd deal yes. Beck may well turn out to be the better player and he is a centre. No point in the Rangers trading for Beck though. He is a couple of years away and they need centres now.

I personally don't get Hab's fans love affair with Laf and also don't think he's needed. They already have great pieces why risk them on the hope of "fixing" Laf?

Is the Roy or Farrel + 2nd added on to my trade idea or on its own? If by it self I don't thinkt he Rangers would bite. I thought of Mesar too but I thought I'd get murdered for suggesting it.

It's the French superstar thing. I don 't get it anymore either. He's not needed and you're correct habs are building something special.
My idea was on it's own. Both are better prospects than Mysak imo.
We'd both get murdered for offering Mesar lol.
you wouldn't be allowed back on habs board ;)

Laf is not what the habs need. The target will be PLD, if for some reason habs
don't draft in the top 7 (and get their 2C)

I would like to acquire him as a reclamation project, kind of like with Dach, who turned his fortune around with us, as of now at least.

What would be the price?
I would like also to acquire mcdavid as a reclamation project. And while we're at this, add also this bust of drasaitl

To be honest, the Habs could use both Lafrenière and PLD, who both bring skill, size and snarl.

But they don't need these specific two, if that makes any sense.

Both of these offers are absolute trash.

maybe but I think if Dach stays on wing, they'll draft / trade target another C, not wing.

Mysak offer is bad but Beck would be a tough piece to part with.

Since it appears that both Slaf and Guhle graduated, he's a top 3 prospect for us.

Would not trade Guhle for Laf at this point, no way in hell.

Yeah because Lafrenière = McDavid and Draisatl
Assuming a player is a reclamation project after 148 career games is pretty dumb.

you might not like the offers, and overreact with hyperbole, but I can assure you, Beck is not trash
I never suggested he was trash. I said the proposal for Lafreniere is trash. Beck does not equal Lafreniere.
