Cool 1 is 18 while the other is 22 you are welcome.
PS I'll take the 3 goals over the 4 assist also.
Interesting so goals matter now? So Lafs 12 even strength goals as an 18 year old destroy Guhle 1 this year?

Laf has also been playing in the league for 2 years on a conference finals team and guhle couldn't make a dumpster fire team while only being 3 months difference in age.

Slaf already has more PP goals in his career than Laf.

Must suck having your own logic used against you.

Yes. Have you heard of recording games? I particularly enjoy watching Montreal for Caufield, he's fun.

And that's your takeaway from Monahan? Either you're lying or don't know what you're actually watching. You pick. I honestly think it's the first one. You don't actually watch Montreal and that your disdain for Monahan (if he keeps up his current play he still has negative value at 3.5 on an expiring contract? Really?!) has something to do with you being a Gaudreau groupie. It's got to be something bizarre like that.

Yes, he's really not done anything lately. His first few games he was playing very well for his standards, but has since regressed.

His straight line skating looks good though.

You think the WWE is a real, competitive sport. Your opinion is pretty much worthless.

So as a Devils fan, you've really been watching a team that will play most of the same days and time as your team? Really? I think you're lying.

As a Rangers fan who wholeheartedly dislikes the Devils And Islanders, I watch both teams every night the Ranger aren’t playing… And I’ll watch their highlights when the Rangers and those treacherous bastards do play.

Especially the Devils, recently. As much as I hate them, they’re a really fun team to watch. There’s so much talent there. Not just Hughes. But guys like Mercer. And Hishier. Their blueline has been sniping some brilliant goals too.

I thought they were a year or two away, but I’m wrong. They’re already making noise this season.

There are USA fans that appreciate hockey that doesn’t involve their favorite team.

Now your comparing a D-man to a forward.
As for Slaf having more PP goals than Laf. It's not Slaf's fault that Laf sucks on the PP.
I wouldn't trade either one straight up for Laf.

highlights are fair comments.
We don't know who will have the better career.
LaF was overhyped, yes, but even if you cut that back he was consensus 1OA w/Byfield barely a mention.
Slaf was not in 1OA running.

Does that mean day 1 either is HoF material
or
LaF is automatically gold and Slaf is crap?
no, of course not

but the dis on LaF here is unwarranted and arguably disingenuous
a narrative being pushed by those who asked for him but want a bargain

Feel free to crap on Slav as a player and at what slot he was picked. Based youth and current talent alone, his ceiling is arguably higher than Laf’s.

Laf is far from a bust but he’s in the running for worst #1 overall pick in the last 10 years. If you factor in the hype he received predraft as a generational player then he’s a clear winner of the worst #1 OA contest.

I think theres a realistic chnace the Rangers trade one of Laf/Kakko/Kravtsov (i think more Laf or Kravtsov since, by all accounts, Kakko is starting to use his big frame effectively).

But, I think if they do, it will be for a rental that will help them in the playoffs. I heard the Hawks are in a rebuild and that Patrick Kane might be available at the TDL

It is not being challenged that Slaf was 1OA.
The pt is everyone thought it was gonna be the C I think SEA took or the D I think Jersey took. Slaf was like 3rd or 4th mentioned, whereas LaF was consensus 1OA by a wide headcount.
It is to Slaf's credit he earned 1OA honors.

As to LaF, he was hyped that much for a reason.
The media and others driving this ranking didn't just business as usual say this is our 1OA.
They said this guy is the REAL deal.
My pt is even if this is off somewhat, it is still a projection that, in a vacuum, this guy is assessed to have at least ballpark that level of talent.

We are NOT giving up youth for vet rental. We are keeping our window open for as long as possible.
Win now 99% of the time = epic fail.

Youth for youth may work, esp if it helps us get cap space as a bridge until Trouba or bread cap can be repurposed
