Oh, it is likely time for him to go aftet this year, I agree, but he is not the main person responsible for today or for why we are most than likelu are going trophyless.

Perez got hyper focused on Mbappé and then got arrogant about Yoro and NOW is waiting for Trent and Davies because he decided he would get everyone as free agents.
yea yea true. I think Real played alright but Mbappe needs to score those chances

Real got caught offside 12 times tonight, which is absolutely ridiculous, and is the kind of statistic that should get the forwards getting bag runs after the game.

How many of those were Mbappe?
That last one was ridiculous because he could literally see both Barça defenders in front of him yet he still managed to be offside

The last one I fault him the least because the pass should have come WAY before.

Sadly won't get to see the match for another 4 hours or more, but looking forward to it.

Anyway, nice to see something like 5 pages for today's match. La Liga should get a lot more attention around these parts.

They will score with those.
Except the two strikers feel like they need to be right on the D line even though they're MUCH faster than the defensemen. THIS is stupid. Mbappe and Vini will easily outrun the Barca defensemen. So stay inside by one meter.

Been saying this for probably nearly two months now. Cubarsi and Martinez have played well, but just ripe for the picking as they're too slow.

I know it usually goes by seniority and doesn't really matter much but a Vasquez-Raphina captaincy for an El Clasico has to be all time bad.

It may end up working out, but Barca is playing an insanely dangerous game with these offside traps

Actually Raphinha has been quite the captain in this recent moment. Even his teammates are taking notice. To be fair, never would have guessed.

Lucky to be even, Real outplaying us. Can't believe our high defensive line has been working so far because the only thing I don't like about Cubarsi and Martinez is that they are slow for modern center backs.

Yep. Interesting to see what happens when Araujo is back.

Title race over in October. Pathetic.

Good first half was for nothing.

It's not. Madrid will definitely have to improve, but plenty of time for that.

Barca has been playing the high line all year, Mbappé should have been ready for it. He got good service today, but his runs were badly timed... and when they weren't he choked.

The question becomes is it Mbappe's fault or that of the management team? Probably both.

Most likely both, indeed. The strategy was clearly to go for long balls and have Mbappé and Vini use their speed. Worked in the first half, but they either missed their chances or Mbappé mistimed his runs. So I'd say it is mostly on him.

Barca adjusted and Madrid did not. That's on management.

I mean you all do know that Messi is going to win the Ballon, right?

I'd say both too. Sounds as though the player should have been able to pick up on it. Interesting too as that was my one big fear heading into this match.

Something else I said at the start of the season, that Lewandowski would score notably more goals this season. Crazy to see he is on 14 goals in his first 11 matches.

A tale of two halves really. Commentary here pretty spot on with regards to all of Madrid’s offsides, but somewhat missing with regards to all the chances in the second half that Barca should have taken. Anway, a few random thoughts:

—Ref was really poor, especially in the first half, but even still in the second half. Classic case of Madridista reffing.
—Team definitely pressed better in the second half. First half didn’t seem like what we’ve been seeing all season.
—Lewandowski Man of the Match for me. He had at least three defensive headers in the second half to go with his goal haul. Imagine if he had have scored two more as he should have.
—Lamine pretty off for much of the match and while Lunin probably should have done a bit better on his goal, Lamine took his goal well. His first touch was quick and perfect and he just smashed it home.
—Raph’s goal probably my favorite.
—Inigo Martinez is really having a season and I thought he was our best at the back, though that isn’t saying a lot.
—Pena had his moments and even a fantastic save on one of Madrid’s offside chances.
—I thought a couple of the subs did well. I thought De Jong came on and marshaled the midfield pretty well. He also had a nice secondary assist on the second goal. Olmo had some really nice touches to put players through.
—I’m not taking the piss here, but Madrid with some awful performances. Bellingham, Vinicius Jr…. Valverde almost not even there. Mbappe with his constant offsides, but I didn’t think he was quite as bad as the others if you factor that out. Bench isn’t that great either at the moment. Ancelotti has plenty to sort out. Kind of reminds me of England to some degree. A bit of not as good as they think they are (though not nearly as much) and seems to be trying to put together a team where not all the pieces fit together.
—I would echo the sentiment that Madrid are lacking some creativity, but they had Guler on the bench.
—I think three of Madrid’s starting four midfielders cost more than the six that we fielded tonight.

Anyway, still everything to play for in the league. I just hope the way Barca are playing continues. Flick has completely changed this team.

We need to find a way to turn him into 70+ million

We’ll see. We need to replace him if that is the case.

Sorry for the late reply was out dog walking.

The second half was pretty much how i expected the game to go but make no mistake on another day Mpabbe makes barca pay for that suicidal high line. It seemed Barca gave way to much respect for Madrid in the first half and just sat back timid. Flick made the changes and the 2nd half Madrid just couldn't cope with barca's creativity, press and class. Anything Flick tries right now seems to work even managed to get a good shift out of Frenkie.

Pedri was immense anyone who thinks Jude is better is out to lunch just look at this weeks games. Casado again with a great game, as I said in preseason the kid is a player but tbh he's done a lot better than i thought he would. In any case Flick has brought barca back to legtiamtely challenge for everything. If this was Koeman or Xavi barca lose in the first half.
