I said before El Clasico to a friend, I think the match up is very binary - who scores first, could pile on goals by the end of the game.

On paper, Ancelotti was right to go for the american football tactic, QB deep passes and "wide receivers" Vini and Mbappe running in behind the Barca high line.
That works if:
- they score their chances (they had them, they just didn't capitalize)
- they go offside maybe 50-60& of the time, not almost every time lol

However, he gave up the middle of the park to play that way, didn't even try to play.
By the time Modric came on, game was gone.
Mendy messed up the offside trap, Vasquez just isn't a RB in these type of games, and that was that.

I wouldn't blame Mbappe, s**t happens, he missed some chances, Vini missed a sitter at 0-0, etc.
Madrid scores first and it could have been 4-0 the other way.

But they didn't and Barca did.
Lewa keeps scoring, Raphinha continues his excellent form, Yamal is basically as good at 17 was Mbappe was IMO, and their youngsters keep delivering.

All of that though, is made possible by Flick. Their style of play, as long as they don't fall behind early, is going to grind teams down and the inferior teams in La Liga are more likely to go home with 4 or 5 in the back of the net, than a 0-0 draw.
They may (or may not) get blown up by City or someone in the CL if they fall behind.. But maybe they just do a Bayern 2020 and keep winning.
Whatever happens, they're fun to watch and they score a stupid amount of goals.

Deserved win for Barca, and they've been much more convincing in the league than Madrid this season anyway.

Not the biggest Coldplay fan, but I also don’t dislike them. Either way I thought the shirt for the Clasico was nice and yet another one that was done well.

Have to post this one as well.

Lamine is gonna make me cry what a ball.

Raphina the captain beautiful finish. But Casado what will we do with this kid. He’s too too good to drop

Olmo selfish twice today could’ve rolled it to an open Yamal.

Barca's first half against Espanyol has been a walk in the park, 3-0 with two goals from Dani Olmo.

This is Frenkie "celebrating" Olmo's second goal:

Weak second half, Espanyol actually winning this half 1-0, and a better team might have scored even more.

Then and there
Socieded beat Sevilla 2-0 away, In the first goal Kubo cut in and drifted patiently couple of opponents before unleashing a curled shot into net.

Oyarzabal scored the 2nd from the spot after Marcao raised his extended arm into throat of an opponent who had just entered the box and was about to burst through.

Tale of two haves really in the match against Espanyol. Second half wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be after hearing about the match. Assists on Olmo’s first and Raph’s goal were really nice. Also nice to see Fort get as many minutes as he did. Flick will have them revved up for the CL after this one.

C’mon man, let’s not go down that road. For starters, this was notably after the goal was scored. The players on the pitch had already celebrated the goal and were walking back to their half when the camera panned to the bench and caught this shot. On top of that, where’ the commentary about Fermin? Doesn’t look like he’s too chuffed himself, so how come not commentary about him? Again, let’s not go down this road as there’s literally zero reason for it.

Some rumours this week about Gyokeres to us. Willing to send Roque their way + a nice amount of cash
Also rumours of Ratiu from Rayo, who I don't think is good enough to start over Kounde, but I'd prefer over Foyth, another right back rumoured to us

Not surprised, but the details sound lazy.

If Kounde is going to be a permanent RB then we don’t need to sign one.

There’s zero reason to get a RB at this point in time. Kounde is more than good enough And Font is a viable back up.

Exactly. Even if we do get one I can think of one I’d rather have than those named here.

As for Gyokeres, barring a major injury and big drop in form I can’t see us replacing Lewandowski next Summer. That’s not to say I wouldn’t look at it, but I don’t think the club will.

Rodrygo and Militao both seriously injured in the first half against Osasuna. Dunno how serious but both left the pitch crying...
