If the kids coming up can’t beat out some of the players that Blake signed today then this team is even more screwed than I thought.

Blake and/or at least Todd are hopefully gone by Christmas

Is Futa still available for GM?

Korpisalo getting more money and term than Andersen is hilarious.

Reimer 1yr 1.5m to Detroit. Add him to the long list of goalies that should've been signed instead of Talbot
HUh?
Wrong again.
The Sens could now sneak into 8th if Korpi is on his game and their youth continues to improve.

What are we going to do roster wise when 2-3 guys get hurt/concussions this season from cheap shots? Because that's going to happen with our WAF team yet again.
Signings as soon as anyone goes on LTIR.
Trades before deadline with draft picks.
Blake is scrambling to not let his and TMac's contracts expire without an extension.
Injuries could make TMac the scapegoat to keep Blake on life support for 25/25

L3 has been together for over season and a half, as the shut down , chip in line.
I doubt they break them up.
The minutes may even up more with the top 3 lines but I believe they will look at;

Fiala - PLD - Kaliyev

for continuity.
The D pairs may differ from game to game.
I would roll out Spence first to evaluate and or shop , while Clarke starts in AHL.
Moverare 7D.
Conauton is a possibility as well. He is listed as RD/LD
Byfield-Kopitar-Kempe
Fiala-PLD-Arvidsson
Moore-Danault-Kaliyev/Fagemo
Grundstrom-Lizotte-Lewis
JAD

Fiala's too good to not play on the same line as PLD. Fiala's good for chemistry. I hope Byfield steps up this season and takes over at center, maybe Kopitar gets his spot taken. I think this is a good lineup and should get us to at least the 2nd round. Yikes. Maybe goaltending will come thorugh big and bail us out. We'll see.

I think Blake trades picks for another GT before the deadline unless Copley and or Talbot are running hot.
Byfield should stay in his incubator with Kempe and Kopitar for now.
If one of those guys or another C gets injured that would be the time to switch it up.

Someone mentioned that only 7 years of this franchise has been watchable. Of those, guess who was in charge for the only 3 years worth rewatching over and over again.

What the years subsequent to our brief golden era have taught me is that this team goes nowhere as long as Kopitar and Doughty suck up the majority of the money and minutes. Every move true believer Rob Blake makes just reinforces that opinion.

The next GM will have to sweep out the Augean stables.

Dear Rob,

I’m not even sure what to make of this offseason. our Goalie depth, as I type this, is Copley, Talbot and Portillo. That can’t win you a Calder cup. I have to think you have another move to make for a goalie. I can’t help to think that when the dust settles, Arvy, Grundstrom or Lizotte and 24 and 25 1st are gone. I mean at this point you need to go all in…..don’t you?

on a side note, I did like our draft for what it’s worth.

sincerly,

one confused f***ing fan

@All The Kings Men Jesse, when you get in front of the “brass” can you ask this question in a more subtle way than I just did?

It doesn't matter if they outplay the vets. We literally saw Walker, Edler, and Durzi played instead of Clarke, Bjornfot, and Spence last year.

Forward group aside, it's the subtraction of Edler and Durzi that makes this year's team better than last. Remember there was that stretch when Durzi was out with an injury and LA was on fire. Then he came back...

Call me crazy, but I think we have a better chance this year.

At least the drought is over so we can find a river to re-route.

One of those groups should all be in the starting lineup.
The other group should all be on bench / waiting for an opportunity in Ontario.
Unfortunately, it's backwards with how the waiver requirements line up. Another job well done and proper roster planning Blake!
It was the reason Futa lost his mind and departed...Blake figured he'd put all the eggs in one Basket...Shit for Brains moves actually

Why?

I agree subtracting Durzi is a plus, but point was regarding getting by those 2 teams. This team is still way too small and soft get through a playoff round. Edit: not to mention questionable in goal

Kings need a goalie in his 20s and a totally new 4th line.

And a new winger for Kopitar and Kempe.
All I wanted was a goalie and a meathead 4th liner above 6-0" to take care of business when needed. Didn't care how many points. I think we got on cheap goalie that might win 15-17 games.
